Did the commentators just call Sams a left-arm spinner? :lol

You still listen to Murali Kartik? He was a better left arm spinner than a commentator. That says A LOT

Good game for India. Hope this does not paper over our current issues with the ball. Harshal and Chahal are IPL products and they do not deserve to be in this team.

Gotta say this is one hell of a burn.

Can't wait for Rohit 1(4) in the next game and for everyone to claim that he is out of form and shouldn't be in this modern new intent dynamic Indian XI. :spy

The biggest mystery that I still can't comprehend is India somehow bringing Aaron Finch who has been forced into early retirement in one format and is probably retiring from the other soon into good form. He couldn't buy a run before and now he's smashing them.
Finch & Steve Smith are always going to hunt on India irrespective of their form. So I am not surprised at all!

Sams is pretty much the worst option when you've got DK at the crease.
And why is that so?

Just a brief moment of introspection last night for myself- I was very vocal and critical about Kohli's stint with the chop and change. It definitely seems like the trend has continued albeit to a lesser extent. Let's see what Rohit's approach is in the red ball game. His batting order in the white ball game is more settled than Kohli's but his bowling is equally bad.

DK has the range of shots to put the ball wherever he desires to for the most part. In a nutshell, you can’t tie him down like with certain other finishers. There’s also his mindset which he elaborated on in the post match where he said he had this shot for this delivery pre-meditated which means you need the sheer pace or the variations to challenge him if you’re a pacer. Sams does not have the pace to threaten him and when you can set yourself up for just various versions of a slower ball on a batting pitch it is bound to be a disaster when you don’t have the accuracy of a world class seamer (and even one in Hazlewood went the distance in the first over).

To summarise all of this, DK is going to be very good against a slow pacer and bowling one to him will mean you’re counting on him making the mistake rather than actively looking to shut him down (unless you have an expert slow pacer and/or an exceptional captain who can dictate the game situation very well).

Completely unsurprised with the way we won our last game. India always tends to do better on pitches that get better in the 2nd innings in matches when they are chasing something. And that usual struggle against Zampa have continued! KLR seriously needs to up his game against the spinners in T20Is atleast.

Pretty sure Rohit would come up with another poor innings today followed by Kohl’s slow & steady knock while DK/Hardik saving us!

I expect Australia to take a 2-1 win today!

These performances by Green as a pinch hitter really putting pressure on Finch's place when Warner returns.

Get ready for another controversial debate about a run-out in less than 24 hours.

Yesterday it was Deepti Sharma. This this it's Dinesh Karthik.

He’s been far better than a pinch hitter though even if I assume Australia are only seeing him that way at the moment.

It’s also puzzling that they’re willing to let him open given his mediocre T20 record till date (only because of a lack of experience) when they’ve batted him at six in tests and even eight in ODIs. At least this should show that he works better when he faces more deliveries and should be batting higher up in the other formats.
