who's the most arrogant cricketer of alltime?

I've met sir Viv although I blanked him because I was gobsmacked to be meeting Aggers :p then my dad told me that the bloke he was talking to was Viv Richards and he laughed at me :o

I guess Jardine was sort of arrogant because when Aussies asked him questions he just said I refuse to talk to Australians :D and he just genuinely believed he was better than Australians. Oh wait thats just common sense...

Douglas Jardine was very arrogant. He really hated the Australians and he wanted to beat them badly.
I have read his book on bodyline in which he called the Australians "uneducated" and no wonder why the Aussies hated him.

Was that the "how does Brian Lara taste?" "I don't know, ask your wife" conversation?

Yeah, reason McGrath got pissed off was because of the fact his wife had breastcancer at the time and was very ill.

Viv Richards seemed arrogant whenever I see him on the telly playing (archives, obv.) but he had a reason to be arrogant. One of the most successful Windie cricketers ever imo.

Viv Richards was just a tough player with swagger. He didn't say things to the opposition, but the way he walked around and the way he composed himself gave away a swagger. He'd always win the battle of body language.

This one time Hadlee (or maybe Lillee I forget) bowled a bouncer that hit his cheek bone. He didn' bat an eye...just kept chewing his gum...not a single word or flinch. Next ball he dispatched for a boundary. That's the swagger that he had.

It was a six IIRC

Some people seem to think that if they don't like a cricketer, they are automatically arrogant.

Basketball is a contact sport. And you cannot even begin to suggest that all Americans are arrogant. You could claim that many or most are, and I'd still disagree with you. They may be ignorant at best but they aren't stereotypically arrogant.
Sounds a lot like the Aussie thing too. There seem to be a lot of people on here (not including you) that seem to think that Australia is latin for arrogance.

He still shouldn't have reacted like that. I mean, if he can dish it out, he should be able to take it.
So if your wife had a life threatening illness you wouldn't get upset if someone brought something like that up?

I don't think that McGrath was arrogant, he always seemed like a nice guy, he was just aggressive. He never boasted how good he was, he may have made some outlandish predictions, but I never saw him as up himself.
