L.Klusener
M.Boucher
S.Pollock
A.Botha

Pitch report:
A very flat pitch.
No uneven cracks or even a hint of green!
This should be a 300+ scoring match.

The toss:
Smith calls heads, and heads it is.
We're going to bat first on a paradise pitch.

The game:
With a batting pitch and Smith and Gibbs to open,I was hoping for a good start.
0-10 overs:
A good start with Gibbs hitting at a run a ball and Smith going at a more sedate rate with some brilliant shots.
Franklin opened the bowling with Gillespie.
Franklin went a little over six an over and he seemed to have no answer to Gibbs in perticular.
Gillespie was a lot harder to get at and kept us well below six an over at the other end.
The first ten overs yeilded 0/51.

10-20:
A sudden acceleration ended with a wonderful throw from the deep!
A bit of a rushed two ended in a run out!1/67.

Greame Smith,run out(Oram) for 35 from 42 deliveries with 6 fours.

Kallis came out with (uncharacteristic)aggresion!
The runs came quickly and the only other chance was a outside edge from Gibbs through the vacant third slip!
We did well in the second set of ten overs, racking up 63 runs and losing one wicket leaving us at 1/114.

20-30:
Gibbs slightly slowed down but easily reached a well made 50.

Herschelle Gibbs,51* from 56 deliveries.

Kallis wasn't made to be aggresive unfortunantly.
Gibbs got a bit tied down at one end so at the other,Kallis tried to hit out!2/137.

Jaques Kallis, lbw Tuffey for 38 from 37 deliveries with 4 fours.

Ashwell Prince came out on his return match and didn't help our cause.3/138.

Ashwell Prince, caught Gillespie bowled Bond for 1 from 6 deliveries.

And Bond liked this!4/142.

Jean-Paul Duminy, caught McCullum bowled Bond for 4 from 2 deliveries with 1 four

Klusener showed a good head and easily played his shots,Gibbs continued with gusto but he'd lost a fair few parterners.
All in all we lost 3 wickets and amased 53 runs,an allright performance.
In total,4/167.

30-40:
Gibbs started it well by smashing a towering six!
And then failed by being bowled the last ball of the second over.5/183

Herschelle Gibbs, bowled Gillespie for 82 from 88 deliveries with 6 fours and 1 six.

Gillespie finished his spell with that over.

Mark Gillespie,10-0-39-1

Klusener and Boucher continued on and they readied themselves for the final 10.
In these over we got figures of 1/51,total:5/218.

40-50:
They accelerated, but as so far in the match,a wicket is the cost.6/241.

Mark Boucher, bowled Franklin for 27 from 25 deliveries with 3 fours.

Again the over ends with the finish of a spell.

James Franklin,10-0-66-1

Still going at at least 6 an over in these overs,The NZealand bowlers tried to keep them below 300.
Oram finished his spell next.

Jacob Oram,10-1-66-0

Tuffey and Bond finished their spells together.

Darell Tuffey,10-1-60-1
Shane Bond,10-0-59-2

With that we ended up adding 76 for the loss of 1 wicket in the final overs.
Total:5/294.

Scorecard:

Just thought I'd give a try at doing something different!

Gibbs and Kluserner were immense. I do feel sorry thoguh on how Gibbs didn't really have many stable partners. Should be an easy total to defend, but NZ have some big hitters. Good presentation, mate.

Top total there. You say Kallis wasn't made for hitting but a nice cameo from him. Any score of 30+ with a strike rate over 100 is good. Gibbs and Klusener were great. Awesome stuff here mate, kiu!

1st ODI:
The game:
0-10 overs:
With Pollock and Terbrugge opening the bowling,NZealand got of to a sort of a slow start.
Terbrugge bowling with fire and Pollock with pure accuracy.
Fleming was looking uncomfortable, unlike his test performances.
And he was playing (or prodding, depending on your veiw;))at too many wide deliveries.
So it came as a surprise when he completely missed the inswinging delivery from Terbrugge which struck him on the pads about middle and leg.
The umpire's decision was expected.1/15.

Stephen Fleming, lbw Terbrugge for 8 from 16 deliveries with 1 four.

McMillian was a worrying thought and he proved to be the aggresive batsman which I remember from the tests.
Papps was also very similer to how he played in the tests, slow and unconvincing!:p
McMillian was the surprise wicket!
Pollock bowled him with a beauty of a yorker!2/38.

Craig McMillian, bowled Pollock for 16 from 16 deliveries with 3 fours.

Oram and Papps kept NZealand from losing another wicket, but non the less I had a very good first 10 overs.
They got 40 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Total:2/40.:p

10-20:
The runs were there for the batsman in this lot of overs.
The pitch was playing more easily and both Oram and Papps played well and with freedom.
Still I held back Botha as I wanted to keep him as long as possible so I can have the pitch crumbling for him.
Botha didn't up his reputation and went and dropped Oram in the deep.
Oram in preticular struggled with Nel but no wicket came.
No Botha was employed but my pacemen did their job well enough.
They got just 40 runs this lot of overs upping the required run rate to almost 7 and a half.
Total:2/80.

20-30:
They set about downing the required run rate and were quite successful.
Papps in perticular started playing well.

Micheal Papps,51* from 69 deliveries.

Botha set about returning the run rate to 7+ and snagged Papps while he was slipping balls through.3/116.

Micheal Papps, caught Pollock bowled Botha for 51 from 70 deliveries with 6 fours.

Next over the slogging started and as with the SAfrican innings,so too with the NZealand innings.4/129.

Jacob Oram, caught G.Smith bowled Pollock for 44 from 50 deliveries with 3 fours.

Astle and Sinclair had the task of rebuilding.
But unfortunantly for them,Pollock was on a roll and wanted the wickets!5/138.

Matthew Sinclair, caught Gibbs bowled Pollock for 14 from 12 deliveries with 2 fours.

McCullum and Astle managed to navigate Pollock till the end of his spell.

Shaun Pollock,10-0-67-3.

That heralded the end of an exciting lot of overs.
NZealand picking up 81 runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
Total:5/161.

30-40:
Botha and Terbrugge now were trying to make an irreversible slide.
Terbrugge made a start.6/167.

Nathan Astle, bowled Terbrugge for 23 from 23 deliveries with 4 fours.

Franklin and McCullum now,the last two batsman I'm worried about.
Neither Botha nor Terbrugge were giving Franklin trouble...not directly that is!7/177.

James Franklin,run out(Nel) for 9 from 3 deliveries with 2 fours.

Gillespie was just slashing randomly and I'm dissappointed that not one of the three catches actually went on the scoreboard!(dropped)
McCullum was playing a more concentrated innnings.
Terbrugge finished his spell then.

David Terbrugge,10-1-45-2.

These overs were also interesting.
NZealand picked up 61 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
Total:7/222.

40-50:
The very first delivery from these overs gave NZealand a let down.
The wicket was starting to crack!
Another wicket was hence forth.8/222.

Mark Gillespie, caught Botha bowled Klusener for 35 from 32 deliveries with 5 fours.

Just his fifth over and Klusener is onto the Kiwi's!9/222!

Shane Bond, bowled Klusener for 0 from 2 deliveries.

They managed to survive that over but Klusener's next one finished a beautiful win!230.

Daryl Tuffey, lbw Klusener for 4 from 5 deliveries with 1 four.

Top win. Papps was a little slow and cost New Zealand. McCullum was slower then usualy too and the Kiwis were rarely in the hunt. Good update mate, kiu!

Great bowling at the death by Klusenar and although Pollock was quite expensive, he got some needed wickets. Good start to the ODI series for you though.

Very good consistent presentation, mate.

2nd ODI:

A.Prince
J.P.Duminy
L.Klusener

S.Pollock
A.Botha
D.Terbrugge

Pitch report:
A very flat pitch.
This should be a 300+ scoring match.(again!!!What are these NZealanders trying to pull?)

The toss:
Smith calls tails, and tails it is.
We're going to bat first on a paradise pitch.(This is somewhat repitition,I know!!!)

The game:
0-10 overs:
A sedate start again by Smith but this time Gibbs wasn't fluently hitting the ball through half a dozen gaps, for the first three overs Gibbs couldn't even get a single!!
That gave us a slower start then last time,When Gibbs finally found his fluency again Smith tried to rocket away, and failed!!Again!!1/26.

Greame Smith, bowled Gillespie for 17 from 30 deliveries with 2 fours.

This isn't the track they said it was on the pitch report!!!
I'm sure of it,those Kiwi's duped us!!!!2/26.

Herschelle Gibbs, caught McCullum bowled Franklin for 5 from 12 deliveries!

I'm positive of it now!
How would they be able to do this on a flat track?3/27.

Jaques Kallis, lbw Franklin for 0 from 2 deliveries.

Duminy and Prince see it through to the 10th over.
We got 30 runs and 3 wickets.

10-20:
Duminy came and was playing very well, down the other end however Prince was not seeing eye-to-eye with the ball!
He quickly unraveled and left us at 4 down!4/52.

Ashwell Prince, caught Papps bowled Schwass for 3 from 23 deliveries.

Duminy and Klusener stabalised well and we only lost one wicket for 36 runs.
Now time to hit out,or maybe not.
Total:4/66.

20-30:
With Duminy showing class at the other end you'd think someone had the sense to stay with him!
Klusener put on a good show but no longer.5/81.

Lance Klusener, caught Fleming bowled Tuffey for 19 from 27 deliveries with 2 fours.

Boucher's cool head out there seemed to help and they easily eased into the next gear.
A good showing saw us lose the wicket of Klusener and add 41 runs.
Total:5/107

30-40:
Easing into gears seems natural for these two with Duminy now playing a more layed back role and Boucher leading,Boucher soon overtook Duminy's run amount.
The run rate crossed 4 for the first time in a while and 250+ actually seemed possible now!
Boucher moved into casual mode at over 38 and easily reached a well deserved half century.

Mark Boucher,50* from 62 deliveries.

Duminy followed suit next ball with a more calm and controlled 50 that had pulled me out of a very bad position.

Jean-Paul Duminy,53* from 88 deliveries.

Thus ended the most fruitful lot of 10 overs so far.
We maintained a good runrate and pushed up the total run rate with no wickets lost and 57 runs added.
Total:5/164

40-50:
First over showed just how much Boucher had been holding back with a massive six over long on!
With boundaries rocketing from Bouchers bat Duminy kept up a steady pace down the other end.
He then decided to hot out or get out because he was still holding the run rate back a bit.
He got out.6/222.

Jean-Paul Duminy,bowled Tuffey for 73 from 103 deliveries with 6 fours.

Shaun Pollock's orders were to smash the ball as far as he could.
He did so with great gusto.
Boucher down the other end ticked off 250 total runs and his massive hundred with the same delivery.

Mark Boucher,102* from 90 deliveries.

He added a single next ball but the ball after added another twist to the tale.7/251.

Shaun Pollock, caught McCullum bowled Schwass for 16 from 9 deliveries with 3 fours.

Botha came in,only to run out Boucher with 7 balls remaining in the innings!8/251.

Mark Boucher,run out(Fleming) for 103 from 91 deliveries with 14 fours and 1 six.

Terbrugge and Botha saw it through to the end, only adding 5 runs.
We added 92 runs with the loss of 3 wickets.
Very well done,Boucher and Duminy!!!
Total:8/256

Don't you mean 2nd ODi and not 1st? ;)

Boucher and Duminy saved your ass there and have helped you to your total. You had a poor start but the last 20 overs were brilliant for you. Hopefully you can bowl well on this batsmens paradise. ;)

Great stuff.

2nd ODI:
The game:
0-10 overs:
We needed a good start this time,a good total on the board but a gettable one.
Pollock and Terbrugge gave nothing away, except for one delivery down the leg side which Papps couldn't control!1/8.

Micheal Papps, caught Gibbs bowled Pollock for 2 from 12 deliveries.

However, this brought in Craig 'The Magician' McMillian, the one player who constantly thwarts me.
He started well but just at this time Fleming started going from confident defender to rather reckless attacker.
Pollock had him swing and miss at 4 consecutive balls in one over.
The next over Pollock bowled he went one better.2/31.

Stephen Fleming, caught G.Smith bowled Pollock for 21 from 34 deliveries with 3 fours.

Oram and McMillian now in but the next over ends the first ten.
They lost 2 wickets and got 36 runs.
Total:2/36

10-20:
Oram took it out on the SAfrican bowlers with absolutely no success from anyone except Nel who had McMillian dropped by Boucher!!
The lack of success provided the launching pad for NZealand to come back into the game.
They lost no wickets and added 53 runs.
Total:2/89.

20-30:
Botha was brought on to try and stem the flow of runs but they took no notice.
McMillian yet again being a pain in the side.

Craig McMillian,50* from 65 deliveries.

Botha was flying all over the park and I'm not likely to give him another spell if I can help it.(if he bowls like that!)
Anyway, another successful ten overs from their point of veiw,Oram in perticular.

Jacob Oram,51* from 51 deliveries.

They amased 58 runs for the loss of no wickets.
Total:2/147

30-40:
Pollock you beauty!!!!
In a flash of brilliance Pollock was brought back into the attack and next thing you know Oram tries to smash him and has his off stump cartwheel a few metres back!!!3/150.

Jacob Oram, bowled Pollock for 53 from 58 deliveries with 6 fours.

Terbrugge was bowling well enough at the other end to finish his spell with no complaints.

David Terbrugge,10-0-46-0

Pollock wasn't easy to get runs off either and finished his spell convincingly.

Shaun Pollock,10-1-34-3

Nel was chosen to bowl the last over of this ten and his first ball was a low full toss which beat McMillian and smashed into middle stump.4/198.

Craig McMillian, bowled Nel for 85 from 110 deliveries with 11 fours.

This lot of overs put me back into a game I was losing.
They gained 57 runs and lost 2 wickets.(the set batsman.)
Total:4/204.
53 to win.

40-50:
K.L.U.S.E.N.E.R!!!!!
He was brought on yet again at the death and what do you know,he ripped Astle's leg stump out of the ground!5/210.

Nathan Astle, bowled Klusener for 5 from 5 deliveries

This is getting tight!6/236.

Brendan McCullum, caught Botha bowled Klusener for 11 from 10 deliveries with 1 four.

Enter the tail.
Klusener!!!
This time he mucks up!!!
conceeding 18 in an over to make it impossible to lose for NZ.
In the dieing light's of the game Kallis puts forward another result.7/256.

James Franklin, lbw Kallis for 0 from 8 deliveries.

But even this doesn't stop NZealand from winning.
Sinclair won it in the end and I'll take this as a lesson:
Drop Botha!!!!

Overs 10-30 really hurt you there. Not picking up a wicket and conceding around 115 runs was not ideal. Klusener looked to be a hero when you brang him on for the second time only to conceed 18 off an over! After that over the Kiwis never looked like losing.

Great work mate, awesome presentation and it's set out nicely. It was a good read! :)

Klusenar got two important wickets then undid his hard work with that terrible one over of 18 runs! You needed to keep the bowling more tight and if it wasn't for Pollock, you could of lost the match at the beginning of the 40 overs, or just before. Great performance from him.

Great read mate, really like your presentation.

3rd ODI:
Team:
G.Smith(c)
H.Gibbs
J.Kallis
A.B.De Villiers
J.P.Duminy
L.Klusener
M.Boucher
S.Pollock
D.Steyn
D.Terbrugge
A.Nel

Notice the absence of Botha!;)

Pitch report:
Not quite as flat as the last two matches, with a hint of swing around from overhead clouds.

The toss:
Smith calls tails, and he has won the toss three times in a row.
We're going to bowl first this time as the clouds are supposed to clear up later on,about when we're batting.

The game:
0-10 overs:
A strong start by the bowlers was a must, and Pollock certainly heard me,yeilding figures of 3-2-2-0 from his first 3 overs.
Terbrugge down the other end was a tad more expensive but as Papps and Fleming were struggling to find a run,he wasn't minding too much, especially as he had several appeals already, although not one out yet.
Not much later Terbrugge got one his way!
I don't see how it couldn't have been given out really!!!1/11.

Micheal Papps, bowled Terbrugge for 2 from 23 deliveries.

No chances from McMillian and Fleming, with Fleming finally finding the boundary.
The ten overs yeilded 22 runs and 1 wicket.
Very good start by the pacemen,Steyn now has to bowl well on his ODI debut.

10-20:
Steyn and Nel now and McMillian was loving it,he's really been the biggest target for getting out in this series!!!
Both he and Fleming were managing to take a better strike rate for these overs.
Fleming was giving away chances everywhere and it wasn't too long before....2/66.

Stephen Fleming, caught and bowled Steyn for 35 from 63 with 5 fours.

Oram didn't lose his wicket.
The got 46 runs and lost a wicket in this lot of overs.
Total:2/68

20-30:
Kallis and Klusener started their spells, they certainly kept their cool with very economical starts.(not as good as Pollock and Terbrugge)
Kallis had McMillian prodding a bit and he was looking jittery,at the other end Oram was batting with uncharacteristic slowness, however he wasn't getting out.
Now the knack of Kallis to get a wicket when we need it would be useful now!
Speaking of that!3/89!

Jacob Oram, caught G.Smith bowled Kallis for 12 from 26 deliveries with 1 four.

Sinclair seemed to have no inclination to attack.
The overs yeilded 31 runs and a wicket!(Again!)
Total:3/99

30-40:
Sinclair took a more aggressive aproach now and Duminy was called on to try and curb the run scoring.
He almost got McMillian first ball and had Sinclair dropped in the deep last ball!
Terbrugge was brought on down the other end,Duminy was being slightly expensive but he had several chances dropped.
The econimy of Terbrugge was excellent though.
Plus his wicket taking ability.4/147.

Matthew Sinclair, bowled Terbrugge for 28 from 38 deliveries with 3 fours.

And that was the end of Terbrugge.

David Terbrugge,10-3-34-2

These overs yeilded 59 runs and a wicket.
Total:4/158

40-50:
Pollock wasn't bowling as well as he could and Klusener didn't do what he did the first match.
Pollock bowled through his overs with constant singles plus the occasional boundary.

Shaun Pollock,10-2-44-0

Kallis was now brought on and he twisted the tale.5/214.

Nathan Astle, bowled Kallis for 32 from 31 with 4 fours.

Nel was set to bowl the final over,he removed McCullum first ball.6/223.

Brendan McCullum, bowled Nel for 9 from 6 deliveries with 2 fours.

Nel almost bowled McMillian too.
These overs gave them 71 runs and 2 wickets.
Total:6/229

Craig McMillan was so unlucky not to get his century, but his innings could be vital for New Zealand. You should still be able to chase down that score, however. Hopefully you can do it in comfortable fashion.

Good presentation, mate.
