2nd ODI: Australia v England at Hobart

Marsh! That was brilliant, what a way to bring up the 100. Easily his best knock and right up there with Watson's knock the other night.

What a Hundred :D Marsh !! Marsh !! Take mine and Silly Syl's bow :clap :cheers

Great way of Marsh reaching that century. Early on I thought the fielder had caught the ball and then fell over the rope. But it seems he simply couldn't reach the ball and while trying fell over the rope. The ball went a couple of meters back in the crowd.

Now to find a way to get him into the side without having to lose Mike.
That was close Marsh almost ran himself out. Thought Marsh would rather have taken off after that 100, still 4 overs to do so though.

Dump Pup :p we do not need him. Take Marsh instead :D Best we can do ;)

Oh no, the Aussie selectors looking pretty stupid right now lol. Maybe they can ask whether they can drop Clarkey and put Marsh in there.

Oh what awesome quotes.

AUS = GAWN

Aus won't hit 200

It'll be a miracle if Australia survive powerplay

Who thought, Dougie can bat better than Hauri and Binga :p

Marsh gone :noway tbh, he had done the right thing, Tait cannot hold the bat. He is even worse than Pidge :(

Dam was hoping Marsh would keep teeing off. We have the attack to defend this and also losing this in 40 overs.

Yardy has done ok, but I question selections and captaincy with use of bowlers.

Why bring on Trott when the aussies were 50/4?!?!? Perhaps in part because they had only three frontline seamers, but it took the pressure right off the aussies. 13 overs later the aussies moved from 50/4 to 120/4 and ended up scoring 180 more runs from their last 30 overs and 2 balls at around six an over when on the rack. Fair play to Marsh for his innings, but I think England have made some poor decisions at key times (selection, 50/4 and 142/8) The last two wickets added 88 runs which is laughable in an ODI

Shahzad/Bresnan/Tremlett : 28.2-2-102-8 (ave 12.75, SR 21.25, ER 3.60)
Trott/Tredwell/Yardy : 20-1-121-2 (ave 60.50, SR 60.00, ER 6.05)

Yardy did come in for some late stick and did pick up a couple of wickets, but the 4th and 5th bowling slots were not clever, reinforces my point about a lack of an all-rounder and including bowlers who don't offer a lot with the bat and it is VERY doubtful if they would be included purely on bowling.

Why did England announce the World Cup squad before the 2nd of 7 ODIs? Is there a deadline? Or are they just too stupid for words? I'd delay it until after the series if possible, players left out of the squad will be psychologically affected and any included who have a shocker will make selections look ridiculous

You can also add

Clarke, Watson, Haddin, D.Hussey, Smith

This innings combined

Are we allowed to replace players in the World Cup squad for reasons other than injury, or are squads finalised already?
I think we may have to ask someone to fake an injury so both Marsh and M.Hussey can play.
Maybe David will do the deed and fake an injury so his brother can win us the World Cup.
He will be remembered as a top bloke for that, and people can act sad and feel sorry for the poor guy, instead of slamming his useless batting.

Marsh should be opening, these pretend openers are useless on all but the flattest of pitches.
Yeah, some pitches in India are flat, but not all, and it is a known fact that nearly all ODI pitches in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are dodgy.
The world cup is being played in Bangladesh and Sri Lanka too you know...
