Briggs Rips Through Leicestershire
At Headingly
Shaun Briggs took 5 wickets, including a 4 wicket over which included a hat-trick, to give Yorkshire a commanding victory over Leicestershire at Headingly. Late wickets on day 3 looked to have shook the away team as they came out on day 4 and lost wickets at a shocking rate. 5 wickets fell for no runs as any hope Leicestershire had of getting a draw quickly fell down the drain as Yorkshire charged on in their search for promotion.
From Briggs View
Shaun Briggs took the game by the scruff of the neck by taking yet another 5 wicket haul and becoming the first Yorkshire player to take a hat-trick this season in what turned out to be an amazing game for the youngster. Briggs cleaned up the tail on day 4 after taking the vital wicket of Aftab Habib late on in day 3 which seeminlgly shook Leicestershire into submission as they collapsed on day 4. Briggs hat-trick victims were Gibson, Masters and Willoughby, HD Ackerman also fell earlier in the over as Briggs ensured another victory for his team.
