Boyd Rankin is a good call
He was the fast bowler I was thinking about.
Yes! And you might as well pick your South African player as well while you're at it to finish off your team.
I was THIS close to picking Razzak but I think Hassan is the better allround player. Rate him quite highly.
Yep might as well go for the extra batting if the bowling is pretty even. Exactly what my thoughts were.
Abdur Razzak

I've gone to plan B. At the beginning I wasn't planning on having 3 specialist spinners, but I couldn't ignore the value of Razzak here. I guess ultimately the attack will be the same as I planned though: 4 pace options, 3 spin options. It's just the spin options will be really good, and a couple of the pacemen will be all-rounders, not specialists.
Razzak has often opened the bowling for Bangladesh, which fits in well for my plans. The article on Cricinfo the other day (
Numbers Game : Who are the biggest hitters in T20? | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo) showed that of all spinners in T20Is only Saeed Ajmal has bowled a higher percentage of dot balls than Razzak. That's perfect to stifle batsmen in the early overs and forcing them to play big shots before they are ready.
A lot of these minnow guys only have good T20I records because they have played other minnows a lot and feasted on the lesser quality. But Razzak has proven to be effective even against the top teams, a good performer even if you isolate his games against the top 8 nations (vs top 8 teams: 12 T20Is, 17 wkts @ 19.00, Econ: 7.02, S/R: 16.2). Best figures were 4/16 against South Africa back in 2008.
