AFL 2006

Adelaide vs. Essendon was the game for me! I was hoping they'd reach the 200 milestone! 30 goals is just the biggest thumping you can possibly take!

Eagles didnt win that Geelong lost it.

What the hell were they doing?
Even Fremantle wouldnt lose from 54 points up with 1 and a half quarters to go.

I picked the cats to win cant believe they lost.

There we go, a typical Freo supporter comment.
The Eagles won that game through hard work.
Something the dockers rarely do.

Ok Results so far Round 10:

Adelaide 30.8.(188) def. Essendon 6.14.(50)
West Coast Eagles 16.5.(101) def. Geelong 15.8.(98)
Western Bulldogs 16.13.(109) def. Hawthorn 13.10.(88)
Collingwood 16.13.(109) def. Brisbane Lions 12.11.(83)
Fremantle 15.10.(100) def. Richmond 13.11.(89)

Thoughts on Games:

Adelaide brilliant but Bombers were awful, Geelong had it won for three quarters of the game then the result summed up their season, Bulldogs and Hawks fought all day but Brad Johnson the difference, Pies blew Lions away in the final quater and Freo cameback to win late in the 4th quater after being behind at 3 quater time & most of the 4th term against the Tigers.

 What happened last night?

Hard work :p

Great games by both WA clubs. A brilliant win by the eagles and an awesome last quater by Freo. Very special to be there and see Macca kick the winning goal :)

It was hard work but also due to the fact that both geelong stopped playing the way that got them infront.
They started trying to play the posession game for the entire final quarter instead of playing the same way that got them there big lead.
They stopped playing football and just wanted to run down the clock.
For the first 3 quarters they always tried to play on quickly everytime.
Final quarter they never played on they just took their time and then chipped it short to contests.

Same can be said for Richmond with 7minutes or so left they shut up shop and started trying the posession game (which didnt work all game due to freos pressure).
Richmond had that in the bag if they kept playing the way that got them infront.

Great wins by both west aussie teams they looked dead and buried but never gave up.

breaking news, blake caracella is out for the season, apparantly hes lucky not to be a paraplegic. This is terrible news and thank god he will be able to play footy again let alone walk. All our support is behind him and his family and hopefully he will have a quick recovery

this season has been such a waste. bring on the ashes.

theres only one team that could lose from 54 points up in the 3rd QTR and thats Geelong. Even effing Carlton wouldve put the eagles away ffs.

First half proved we're a good team but they just dont want it enough.

What happened to him?

Round 3: Fremantle V Port, Port adelaide were less then 10 pts behind before Freo surged and kicked 4 goals to win by 31 pts

Round 6: West Coast V Fremantle, Eagles were in front with less then 1 minute to go before Haze kicked the winning goal. Freo stayed with the premiership favourites all day and then produced the hard work when it mattered.

Round 10: Richmond V Fremantle, No explanation needed, Freo gritted their teeth and ran over the top of a good side.

Admittedly they sometimes can be frustrating to watch they are still a proud and passionate team. There may be teams that put in more effort on a regular basis but Freo like most other AFL clubs hardly ever sit down and die.

and btw 7 of the Eagle's 9 goals were kicked as a result of a free kick. Is that really hard work or just luck?

Wait, the umpiring was in OUR favour? Surely you jest

..and on that topic, Dean Polo would like to know what constitutes a mark these days, Ray Hall enquired how 9 steps = 15m and also why the opposition can now tap it through for a goal- but don't detract from a stirring victory over an ordinary and badly undermanned Richmond side at home, fine display of spirit that

Horrible news for Caracella, but let's hope they don't use the incident to make any crap rule changes
