Ravi,
I have completed the match between England and India.
England batted first and they batted very well and ended their innings at 262 all out after 42.3 overs. There are no negative points in the way England batted. Great work.
Then, I chased the score. I made some notes of the pace that I was scoring:
After 10 overs, the score was 102 for 2
After 15 overs, the score was 137 for 4
After 21 overs, the score was 200 for 6
After 24 overs, the score was 233 for 8
After 28 overs, the score was 248 for 9
After 29.5 overs, the score was 262 all out.
So, eventually my score was exactly the same as England. This is really great. Now, I am unable to win easily.
My only concern with batting is I am able to score very fast. The good thing is I keep losing wickets regularly. With established batsmen, if I hit the ball it is either a four or I am "out". I seem to be playing the leg glance often and I seem to get a number of fours from this shot. Also, I play the cover drive a number of times. You had mentioned that you settle down before scoring fast. By settling down, do you mean just defend the ball ?? Please clarify.
I would like to bat out the 50 overs without losing this many wickets. But, it seems as though I always score fast, EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT INTEND TO. I think batsmen like Squiz or Radaga might also find batting easy. A question: Is it possible to make ONLY the user batting difficult ?? I am guessing the answer is 'No' but please clarify.
Now regarding the issue of wides:
Even in this match, 37 runs came via wides. I even changed my system settings from 1024 x 768 to 800 x 600. The game settings were at 800 x 600 already. But, there were at least 10 to 15 bouncers that were declared as wides by the umpire. So, it may not be that bad. In any case, on your system if you do not experience this many wides, then I guess it is only occuring on my system due to some settings and hence you need not try to fix it.
Thanks for lot of all your effort.
