Thanks for the feedback dude. I was certainly considering Haynes, but went for the underrated Greenidge, plus you were quite correct: I was wanting another of my batsmen to be able to bowl after Viv. Mark Waugh was the original plan, but Sehwag fitted nicely too because he brings the aggression and modern play style that Greenidge and Lamb probably don't.
Option B was to pick a keeper who could open like Alec Stewart, but I didn't want to pick Stewart that early as the keeper won't be playing much of a role in my team with all the stars around him.
The picks that I'm a little concerned about were Inzy, Akmal and maybe Allan Lamb. I was heavily considering your man Abbas when I picked Inzy, but I didn't know how my team would turn out at that point so I wanted a more versatile player who could do all the different middle order jobs and let me keep my options open later. Zaheer was basically a #3 specialist. Or I could have gone for Mark Waugh there too, but I thought there was plenty of openers left at that point - turned out I was right as I'm quite happy with Greenidge/Sehwag.
Akmal - yeah I'll get criticised, but he's my last pick, and he's there for a pinch hitting role which I like him for because once he gets going, he's fantastic. Guys like Dravid have kept in ODI cricket, so I've got no problem with Akmal's glovework. Then again I'm not a Pakistani fan
Was thinking of picking AB DeVilliers to keep, but didn't really feel comfortable with it.
Lamb was a fine player but perhaps I could have picked someone more athletic in the field like an AB De Villiers or Michael Clarke. I still like Lamb as a better batsman than those 2 though, just thinking about how to round out the team better.
And the other 8 guys, I'm REALLY happy with and in particular that I could find guys to do all the roles I like in a team: Aggressive opener-Sehwag, Finisher-Klusener, pinch hitter/powerplay buster-Akmal, Strike bowler-Lee, solid 6th bowler-Viv, and good tailend batting-Hadlee+Lee.
