Any one with Setanta in here?

So chances are, all the matches will be sucked up by Sky. They should be distributed between BBC and ITV; it's a nonsense that the National sport should be restricted so heavily to pay per view TV.

I see actually ESPN gained Setanta's rights: The Associated Press: ESPN to air live Premier League matches in Britain

It would have been illegal for Sky to take them all because Europe ruled one single broadcaster can't have a monopoly on Premier League matches. Although, they were expected to take on 23 of the 46 games on offer. I don't know how much it is going to cost.

Talking of Sky, with the advent of the red button, I don't get why they can't show a live game on a Saturday afternoon and give us the ability to choose which one to watch (or at least give a reasonable selection, if not all of them)? They do it with the highlights at Football First, after all.

If you are talking about 3pm kick offs, it is also illegal. Saturday afternoon games can't be shown live on British TV. It is legal in other countries, even Ireland, but not here.

Whoops! Browser Settings Incompatible

Setanta are screwed. Lost the UFC license as well now. Just hope the UFC get a deal sorted quickly, be gutted to not get UFC 100 Live. Just so long as we get Live PPV's and they're not on Sky Box Office I'll be happy. Although having them on Box Office is better than not seeing them Live I suppose.

I don't really like watching football on it,the camera angle was rubbish. But they did show IPL last year and Asia Cup,also that puppet show(can't remember the name, was great:happy)
For some reason they took all the setanta package off our sky 2 days before the IPL 2009 started,so now i hate them.Hopefully sky sports will have it next year!

Pulled the plug on their channels now, message up "Setanta has ceased broadcasting".

For anyone familiar with the punditry of Craig Burley this can only be a good thing.:D

Do not wana miss Lesnar v Frank Mir next month!! oh hang on i can watch it online but then it's not same as watching it on my Hd tv lol

Bloody hell! Any idea why that is? As you said, it's legal in other countries, even in Ireland...

Apparently all the fans will stay at home and watch the game on the telly instead of going to watch their local team. Fair enough even if it's not true with the majority of fans, smaller clubs need all the help they can get.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Bunce you are a legend, your rants on Jade Goody, the tranny in the pussycat dolls and bad Chad will never be forgotten. Neither will Andy and his awesomeness. Or that hot presenter you got to stand in 1 time. Setanta boxing was amazing. I actually nearly cried. I still refuse to remove the Bunce hour from my tv planner. Bunces legendary youtube video of him getting berated by BHop was just the beginning of the mans awesomeness.

ESPN best sign the Bunce man.

True, I didn't think of that.

ESPN seems to have replaced Setanta Sports on freeview. My BT viewing card seems to be working for it too.
