England faced there toughest session in most peopels opinions after bowlign 29 overs for just 2 wickets in the heat of a Perth Summer. In their attemopts to take the wickets England have used all their fired power with Flintoff bowling 22 overs which is alot considerin ghe was not meant to be bowling much at all. For the Prime Ministers XI the session looked to be going well with no wickets lost although a top edged pull should have been caught by Mahmood. However England went in the happiest with two wickets from Panesar bowling tight lines and good spinnign deliveries.

D.Gower- England idealy wanted a 3rd wicket however the 1st inninsg showed that once england were bowling to the likes of Merrit and heal and below wickets tumbled and therefore removing either Lang or Gate is vital for a victory

England 661-8 Dec.

Prime Ministers XI 270 (84.5 overs)

England require 7 wickets from a maximum of 30 overs

Prime Ministers XI managed to draw the match despite losing 5 wickets in the last session before the close of play. Some terrific bowling from Flintoff and Mahmood got these wickets with Hoggard picking one up in his final over. Th etop order made the draw possibel especially Lang who batted for 225 balls for 48 runs. England will be dispaointed nto to have won the game yet they showed the importance of flintoff in the team.

D.Gower- England forced there way to a close victory but wickets came just to late with the final 3 coming in the last 3 overs. However takign 8 wickets on this wicket in a day is a great feat in its self and the victory woudl of probably onyl been possibel if England had declared a session early than they did.

A.Flintoff (Man of the Match)- Before the match we spoke about who was going to bowl and how we should rest, so i was told i woudl rpbbaly bowl abotu 20 overs in th ematch but i bowl 20 overs in eahc innings but i feel fien which is probbaly becuase i was taking wickets regulary. We woudl ahev liked to have won the gaem but drawign the match was good enough considering the runs we had in hand still.

England head over to adelaide for the 2nd warm up macth against South Australia. When they arrived they were please to see a green wicket whcih shoudl offer somethign fro the bowlers unliek the placid Perth wicket seen previously. However England did take the decision to rest Flintoff who bowled over 40 overs and Vaughan and Mahmood and had replacements with Bell, Cook and the deadly Harmison. England will be hopign fro a good match predominately fro their bowlers oen suspects.

D.Gower- England idealy wanetd to win theri openign gaem btu the majority fo the batsmen are confident after the run feast. However with such a different wicket, they still have to focus and ensure they do the same and make good attempts to win this macth..

South Australia batted well through the first session and lost just the one wicket despite the seam movement generated by the English bowlers. England started well removing smith who was terribyl run out by miles and this left them 12 for 1. However, sicne then there has been stern resistance with the partnership between Dietz and Lehmann reachign 50. Englands bolwers showed some aggression but bowled porrly with the ball nipping about they lacked the abilty to do something with this.

D.Gower- England performed badly in this first session and sjould have taken 3 wickets to have left them in a good position. However the run rate was slow and the batsen were extremely carefull and watchful. England need a good next session btu if South Australia can survive again without to much damage they shoudl be able to post a good innings total.

Another good session for South Australia with them losign just the one wicket of Dietz who was brilliantly dismissed by Matthew Hoggard. Hoggard was the pick fo the bowlers with him threatenign all the tiem but it wasnt untill eh got one to jag back to Dietz in made the breakthrough with an LBW. However things could have been signifcantly better considering Blewett edge the very next ball through the vacant 3rd slip position. However despiet lsign this wcket at the other end Lehmann has look solid and is nearign a centruy.

D.Gower- A better session for both teams but South Australai will be happy with them losing just one wicket. However if England can get a few in the last session they will soon be into the weak tail..

Monty Panesar make a big impact on a non turing wicte with 3 wickets. He made the first breakthroguh by removign Blewett who was bowled but contineu top snap up to bat/Pads to Strauss at Silly point. These wickets opened up the lien up to a collaspe with 3 wickest fallign for 6 runs. Plunkett contribuetd with a firey spell endign in the dismissal of Manou caught by Jones who has been extremely tidy today.

D.Gower- England emphasiseds the importance of Panesar when he took 3 important wickets. Now England are in the tail thye should look to remove the last few wickets and get some of their own runs on the board.

A.Strauss- We played mcuh better in the last session and a few bowlers who looked out of touch in the first agem came through today. Monty played very good and we hoep he'll get soem more and Plunkett impressed with his last spell which gto a bgi wicket of Manou.

D.Lehmann- I in good form btu its a smae a few other havent got soem mroe runs becuase then we woudl be in a commandign position. Our probelm at the moment is tiem o gettign up to 300 quickyl is key and hoepfulyl we can have a go at them before lunch.

England peg back South Australia to force a declaration before they had taken 3 wickets. Hoggard was the pick of the bowlers thsi morning with 2 wickets caught in the slip region. Harmsion added with a beautiful delviery that jag into the pads of Cleary who lasted just 4 balls. Lehmann batted throguh till the end with 166. However England have gto alot of worked to do with plenty of tiem left and movement in the wicket.

Englands battign heroics of th eprevious game were over shadowed by the loss of 3 openign batsmen for just 25 rusn in the tiem before Lunch. Trescothick went first to a LBW to Gillespie althoguh replies make the decision questionable. He was soon followed by cook (3) whom edge a wide delivery to 2nd slip. Bell looked in good confident shape untill he was bowled by tait before the Lunch break.

D.Gower- England have to be careful here becasue a fe more quick wickets could see them in seriosu troubel especially considerign Batmen liek Vaughan and Flitnoff are missing. For South Australia this session coudl determind the out coem fo the match.
