Ashes Cricket General Discussion

You should actually try putting your games on sale on Steam once in awhile. And I'm talking 66-75% price drops, it might sound insane but you could be surprised how many people would take a punt at DBC17 at that £10-£15. When you have a niche game you need some way to suck the casuals in, it's even a running joke among Steam users that they buy games on sale they wouldn't have dreamed of paying full price for.

But nah, better to just completely shit on your PC player-base by saying they're worthless to you and associating them with pirates. :cheers

I am releasing on PC because I promised to do so, otherwise I certainly would not, that is a matter of respect and keeping our word, not the even close to what you accuse us of.

You obviously have NFI about the current situation on Steam - the average game on Steam now returns less than US$10,000 - discounting the game is a totally f*cked strategy, if you don't like Cricket you won't buy it at $1, if you like Cricket you will buy it.

There should be an option on here that's not quite "ignore" but marks posts as likely to be mindless drivel.

Its really great news that new cricket game "Ashes" is coming soon Good luck but what about ongoing bugs for DBC17, shall we forget those and move on to new title :).

@BigAntStudios hope you able to fix those list of bugs posted in pc-bugs-thread in Ashes game else its not worthy to buy game on day 1/pre-order considering past DBC17 experience. Undoubtedly you were much promising in case of DBC14 while providing excellent support etc to gain public attraction but somehow opposite in case of DBC17.

So kindly consider addressing of DBC17 existing issues in Ashes game as its, i think further built on DBC17 game engine instead of developed from scratch.

Yes, clearly the average Steam game makes no money because it's impossible to turn a profit on Steam, couldn't possibly be because the average Steam game is hot garbage made in some guy's bedroom. If you think your product is on the same level as that sort of stuff I don't really know what to say...

And your second point just makes no sense. You really think every person who has some passing interest in cricket is willing shell out £40/$60 for a cricket game with mixed reviews? You think literally every big company on Steam that has sales all the time are conducting a "totally f*cked strategy"? A sale on Steam is not just a discount, it's a promotional tool: 'Hey look our cricket game is on sale, maybe try it out even if you're not that interested in the sport. You could be surprised!' If nothing else it will get the game to appear in the specials page and be exposed to a lot more people.

But again nah, just dismiss everything I say as 'mindless drivel' and delude yourself into thinking nobody is making any money from PC games.

There is a point, it’s the reviews after DBC17 release that made sale to go down I feel. May be a discount offer at that point could have boosted the sale a bit. It’s jus a guess, don’t jump on me.

Yes, clearly I have NFI

Fixed it for you.

What I have said is based on data, which you don't have, whatever it is you're saying is based on.......

"You are ignoring content by this member." should have done it sooner.

At least you said you were having a guess, which is most reasonable, and not pontificating as if you were an expert on all matters related to Steam, PC, and games revenue, that, and telling me how I am shitting on PC users - there's a world of difference.

Yeah Right!!

$50 USD is pretty cheap for a sports game on steam!

when you consider the value in price per hour these games easily net you 500+ hours if your a fan of the sport

Though i wouldn't mind seeing a region pricing if possible for subcontinent, cause quite a few folk who were onboard for dbc 14 were missing for 17 due to the lack of region pricing. That said with ashes coming i dont think giving a discount for 17 is a good idea either for the buying customer or BA.

Clearly neither do you since you don't make any money on Steam.
I can understand someone asking the question why the game hasn't been on sale: then you can get an answer as there are no doubt legit reasons behind the scenes why that is the case, probably out of control of BA....but to then go to "shitting on pc owners".....then I am afraid you indeed have no idea what you are talking about. I rate you highly as a poster but this is...of course you are free to despute the pricing policy but to say BA as a developer is shitting on pc users is frankly just downright unintelligent rude. You clearly have no idea......
