I think those getting edges are using classic controls

I prefer standard, but even on hardest settings with no modifier changes playing on legend edges are practically non existent?

I am actually getting edges using standard batting controls.

With pitch marker and Yes it happens to me all the time even for the fast bowlers sometimes. Its one of the gameplay modifier which make it happen but not sure which one is it.
Happens to me occasionally and I'm on default. Personally don't mind it, because the pitch marker is too accurate anyway.
Are people still getting no edges when batting? Like 60% of my wickets are from edges and thats excluding the ones that don't find a fielder. Test matches are of pressure batting, literally have to leave anything outside off because I'm afraid I'll nick it. Sometimes the AI has a real aggressive field tempting me and then I go for a drive and edge it then kick myself later, that just happened to me twice, one of them was with a set batsmen who had 69(93) and had nicked a ball the one before he got out but that went for 4...

Only qualms I have with batting are sometimes when the AI bowls a yorker I get a pull shot instead of a leg glance...and similar other things like this too which makes it a bit irritating but all the while good fun so far.
Mine have gone down massively since I've stopped giving into the temptation to square drive.

The biggest problem I'm finding it getting myself in before losing my head and going for the big aggressive shots, in particular over the shorter formats. Shots that you even seem to time correctly on Career Mode just loop up into the air and into the hands of the waiting fielder. Annoying as you have to keep the runs ticking over but provides constant though on shot placement. Sometimes it works out, others not! Anyone have any tips on how to successfully play aggressive shots early on without getting out? :D

Not to start anything or criticise people's choices of how they play the game. I tried standard controls for batting and it was an over before I wanted the classic controls back. They just seem so boring to use. Same with pace bowling.

Spin bowling, not so much, but there's no foot placement timing and I hate that rotating the LS. Gimme spin control, to set how much I want to attempt to spin it, like seam control and I'd be happy.

Maybe Its just me but I officially think the game is Shite---like the other bugs will be updated next year--its not like its not a reskin of DBC17 why the hold up on the updates[DOUBLEPOST=1516116205][/DOUBLEPOST]The test ball is pink--for near realism im going back to DBC 17 with a red ball instead of what color they have in this one...

They dont even make an effort to add anything new---like its a ashes test game--hey BA make the sessions actually better--like Morning Session--Lunch Session--Tea Session--Dinner Session-

NOoooooo cant't do that---i should sit here and guess what session im in---No replays for the session--every sports game has that.---even NBA live has that---better AI ahhhhh--im tearing my hair out

Most games don't have sessions that last 1 hour so having highlights could be difficult in terms of memory space. I think in session highlights could be better, at the moment there seems to be no consistency with when one appears.

They really messed up the red ball colour. Don't know what they were thinking.

EA had wickets highlights though. I think there may be workarounds to make it recognise only certain events and compile them.

I'd like to see an option to choose the camera which you see highlights on. A lot of the replays for wickets are side on and the camera usually doesn't keep up with the ball. If it's an edge or bowled you want to see that front on - I do anyway.

Add to that an option to select how long replays are kept, is it like 5-10 overs now? I don't need that many IF there was a 'save' replay option - while one is playing you press Y and it queues it into a highlights package.

When straight driving or defensive shots ?
If so can only assume I am amazing at batting :p

Straight driving. Usually on aggressive shots but not always.

Keep in mind I am playing Career Mode, so the skill level of my batsman is probably lower than star players you are using.

Not really. I use classic controls and I think I've already made my position quite clear regarding edges and batting in general :)

But I don't use pitch marker. I bat with the traditional "ball marker" with "behind the camera" batting angle. Who knows if batting with pitch marker is causing more edges?
