Asia Cup 2008

Jayasuria blew a great chance away. Anyway some records aren't meant to be broken. 400 is a definite for the Srilis and they look like they're back in the form they were in the World Cup.

well bangla have fought really well to reduce them to a score less than 350...i meant apart from the 2 openers nobody did anything

What ! They only scored 332 ?
Its really poorr from the Lankans. They were 200/0 in 27 overs. At that rate they ought to have reached 400 odd.Had Sanat stayed, they probably would have.

One thing in this tournament was really dumb. Points are only carried forward when a team is not to play the same team that they played in the group stages. But in this tournament, it wasn't the case. India plays Pakistan again and Sri Lanka is playing Bangladesh again today. Whats the point of the carried forward points??

Yeah. Agree with Icyman. 120 runs in about 22 overs is really poor considering the start they had...

Hes gone for 130 though:p

He could have got Saeed Anwar's record easily here. Even a slow inning would have done it from 130...

yeah that was an unlucky shot to get out... i still hope somebody can break the record of anwar right here in the asia cup...:p

Sri Lanka into the finals now. Pakistan can only hope India lose both their remaining matches now. Even then, their net run rate probably won't match that of India's.

how many matches of india re remaining? with whom?
it means pak are out of the tournament:happy

Two for Pakistan. And they need to win them convincingly to get through.

We have to hope for a miracle in 2 days time against India.

Over 150 runs win is required I think from us - and SL will have to beat India by 100 runs or more.

And Pakistan have to beat Bangladesh by 100 runs.

I can see the win against Bangladesh happening like that, But sadly I can't see the two big wins against Sri Lanka and India happening :noway

i dont see india losing 2 matches, pak in all probability will be knocked out tomorrow.

this bangla team looks so helpless. .wrong place at the wrong time. looking at Ashraful .omg..looks like a innocent child going through immense torture..i think they should be allowed to go back home :p

bangladesh i think finds false solace in the fact that they are a young team and needs to mature but the fact is they have been a young team even since they have become a full icc member, they seem to grrom a young player and just when he has gained enough experince he is surprisingly dropped for an even younger player and we always have to hear Athar Ali Khan say its a young team which is learning.
