Batting has been fairly good this series, but bowling has been abysmal at times, But it vica versa today in the final . We need to sort this out.

Don't forget that the pitches were tailor made for the batsmen. I wouldn't say that our bowling was as bad as it looked throughout the series.

I disagree on dropping Pathan. He's had one bad tournament...he's normally very good. I think Rohit Sharma should be dropped instead for Zaheer. Replace Uthappa and R.Sharma with Sachin and Zaheer. But Sachin and Zaheer are ALWAYS injured. It's so annoying.

What are you smoking!? Pathan is a waste of space, a waste of flesh and an excuse for a bowler. He used to be good, now he's just god awful. Absolute garbage.

A Madives was nothing a special bowler
Indian team has lost the match because of their poor batting side i reapeat there nothing special about the bowler
the senior their m murli wasn't that impressive because all players know his bowling tactic but A maldives was new so sehwag and team didn't get this player
after gairy Kirsten being the coach of India the team never won a series
we were good without the coach(prasad robin were good)
morever the over confidence of team has ended a lost for the indian team
Dhoni should have take a senior player Like S Ganguly Or R Dravid
He took a very bad team and notice not always a youngster works..
we need a senior player at least one to handle the pressure and win
if we had wickets we surely have won this game
Yuvi as usual was prone to spinners
Sehwag as usual gave a start and let us disappointing
the captain played his knock but not enough his coolness not always work
he should go around the striker end and advice his partner to just carry on roarting strike and have singles

at last Ipathan he never deserved the place in the team as he said he is not fit..
S lanka had nothing special but it was poor effort of india wjich resulted the 18 in line lost for the Indian team..

The "staged" match arguably paid off. That was India's first look at Mendis and it proved too much for them to handle. Even if he'd bowled 3/30, it would have severely crippled their chase.

Well played Sri Lanka.
Today it was'nt really the batting line-ups failure, it was really mendis. he has got 3 or 4 different balls so Indians really did'nt picked up the delliveries he bowled. It can be attributed to playing him for 1st time, IMO. Mendis real test will be Ind-SL series.

I betted on Sri Lanka last night for this match... I knew this was going to happen (feeling mixed now coz I will win vcash but I am seeing my home team lose like this)!

Looks like the next legend in spin bowling is here!! I have seen bits of him in some match against the Windies and he does lookk very confusing. But I am sure that teams will figure him out soon. But we can also expect him to improve as teams figure him out. So wish him all the best!

India needs a break now. Please selectors - REST THE CAPTAIN FIRST! This guy has been playing non-stop cricket and yet he fights for the team with the bat so well in the ODI's. He has had a fantastic two ODI series (CB & Asia Cup). He deserves to do all the commercials that comes his way (with the form he is in now). Give him a break and have Dinesh Karthik/Parthiv Patel for the tests in Sri Lanka.

I wont lose hope on Rohit.. May be he too was clueless of Mendis.

1.5 months gap? We are playing Sri Lanka in a test cum ODI series. India's international calendar is so packed that they wont get continuous rest of even a week (probably rarely they might get that!)

From looking at the figures it looks a brilliant performance from Mendis. 8 overs 6-13 are brilliant figures, especially for a guy so new to the international game. His domestic stats also indicate that he's going to be a brilliant spinner in the next decade or so for Sri Lanka. He certainly looks a tasty prospect for the Sri Lankans.
