Nope they realised hey what the heck are we thinking.
We have lots of batting depth and they all avg around 50 so we are allready well ahead on paper against any other team in the world.
Then we have Warne he can tie up one end for most the day and be dangerous.
Our 3 quickies Mcgrath,Lee and Gillespie can rotate form the other end and are good enough to trouble every side.
So England desperately need the all rounder because they lack quality batting depth and only have 2 quality bowlers.

i assume your two quality bowlers are Flintoff and Jones, and well, We don;t know how Jones will go after injury. he probably has just as much chance at being useless as he is being good.

I dunno how he reminds you of Johnson with the ball- probably because he's a left armer :p

Left armer, tall and swings it both ways. Thats what an article said on it, I think Bruce Reid compared him to Julian. Johnson will definitely get a go in the ODI arena with Clark off home. Hopefully his nerves have been settled and he can show what talent he has.

That's a very bold statement, seeing as you're talking about the same Jones that returned as an even better player than he was promised to be, after overcoming an 18 month injury.....

Aussie1st- Why isn't Bollinger compared to Julian then? He has similar attributes, yet doesn't receive the praise because he's bald :p
Nah, I suppose Johnson is similar to Julian in a way, but very different in others.
GK- I hope you realise the keyboard has a 'full stop' button- it gets the point across just as effectively ;)

Because aussie1st isn't a selector thats why. :p Bollinger is more accurate than Johnson from what I have seen. Hopefully you guys can get some speeds on Johnson although from what I have seen you guys couldn't even get the speeds from the test matches.

oh gee thanks for clearing that up jim, i never realised :p

johnson bowls around 145km i think....Bollinger is also up around 140, but Dougie wasnt taken to Bangladesh for some dumb reason :(....i wouldve like to have seen Dougie or Birdie Boy get taken to Banga over Doery.

Dunno about Bird at this stage, he's a good prospect yet needs a few more justifiable performances, but definitely Bollinger! I can't see why Dorey is persisted with- well his perfromances have been decent, but at his age if he doesn't fulfil the expectations, development is difficult to instill. Bollinger definitely bowls over 140, or he used to anyway, he lives near me and I've seen him play quite a bit, and he's quick!

as i said earlier they only like Dorey because he's 203cm....he hasnt even done anything in the ING Cup yet he's in the ODI team...while Bollinger was the leading genuine quick in the wicket taker column. strange.

Looks like a good team that.
I wouldn't mind Cosgrove in over Cullen. Cullen and Lee would swap around during the series. That would be the best move as I can't see Hogg getting a rest as he has played no cricket in awhile.
