Bevan hardly had a go in the test side. But yea Aus have moved on from Bichel and Bevan.

I guess Stuart Clarke has been picked because he's our next best bowler who is actually in England. Otherwise they have virtually no reason for doing this, Bracken can be brutal with the new ball swinging (his best figures in PC are seven wickets for four), especially to the left handers.

I have seen Bracken bowl against India in Mumbai, and I must say he does swing the ball really well.

if he had success when india toured aus, perhaps he would still be in the team. alas that wasnt a good tour for any of our bowlers.

I dont think Stuart Clark deserves the call up, personally, I'd play Tait who is a better option to replace Lee and I'd also consider either Nathan Bracken or Brad Williams

I still think Ian Bell should be dropped for Collingwood but I think they'll give Bell more time

Well there is no guarantee that Collingwood will deliver. He has no test match experience. Also chopping and changing doest really help.

Well they've managed to level the series 1-1. They should put their best team on the park. Now playing 2 out of form batsman at key positions at 3 and 4 is stupid. One of them needs to go and since Vaughan is captain it has to be Bell. Collingwood is in good form and is an allrounder so he is another bowling option and he is an excellent fielder! Why wouldnt you pick him?

He can't do any worse than Bell (<40 runs in 4 innings)and he played several tests in Sri lanka and did well.

However , i'd like to see someone who is more of an accumulator of runs and maybe a lefty to boot (Ed joyce?)

I am not saying Collingwood aint a good player. But I think we all know that Bell is too, its just that he hasnt delivered till now. But with the talent and technique that Bell has its just a matter of time before he does. I think we need to be a lil more patient, as everyone cannot make a Pietersen-entry into international cricket.

what about Mick Lewis? Damien Wright? Both are a lot better than him...
