Most aussies were calling for changes before the tests even started no one was performing in any of the lead up games with the bat except M Hussey and Gillespie was struggling back then aswell.

The reason Aussies were doing so well before was if they failed too many times in a row they would be dropped (except ponting,hayden an langer)for someone else so they made every innings count.
Now it seems no matter how crap there going there place in the team is secure so they dont need to worry about having poor performances in a row and being replaced.

Some would say thats a good thing because its less pressure and one less thing to worry about but its obviously not working and they performed better when there place in the team rested on every match.

Six current Test batsmen have scored centuries in the past 12 months. Four of them average over 50.

Symonds isn't putting enough on the board to fully knock a player out. Hussey will need to put in a lot more performances to warrant Test selection. Players dropped by Australia don't come back for a long time. Hayden and Martyn know this pretty well.

Well if you replaced Gillespie with someone who couldn't stop England getting to 444 then I guess you may as well leave him in the team. The idea would be to play 4 bowlers, not 3 bowlers and a stonewall.

If there's rain at any stage tomorrow, this is guaranteed a draw.

Michael Vaughan bowled well, caused problems. He should bowl far more. I'm not sure what Hoggard's role is now. He can't seem to swing the ball, which is what get's his wickets. He is wasting the new ball!
