Sando said:Yeah, I understand that but it was never going to be one of the greatest bowling efforts ever to knock a side over on the final day, that had no prospect of winning..... you blokes were odds on to win it.
Flintoff and Jones have bowled beautifully in this match, they were the only two English bowlers I rated coming into the series and I rated em highly. Unfortunately they have proven me right! That being said, catches win matches and our bowlers certainly created enough opportunities to have you blokes in trouble, and to cover for a batting lineup that save for Alfie, has looked as ordinary as it did for most of the one day matches. Looks like Australia will have to come back from the dead once again if it is to retain the Ashes and a decent lead on the points table.

I always reckon you can tell how good a team is when they play well below their capability, and it was great to see the Aussies is foreign territory (batting to save a match) carve out a draw with all but 3 or 4 players contributing pretty much zero. Hopefully they can start to play somewhere near capacity towards the end of this series as they did in the ODI's.
Must give credit to Freddy and Simon Jones, even though their career stats aren't particularly impressive it seems that there current form is not a flash in the pan. However, hopefully this final day will make some people realise that the English attack as a whole aint the greatest as some were proclaiming. If it aint swinging, Hoggard is an honest but uninspiring quick. Giles lacks the talent to be a match winner and Harmison's mental strength is a game-to-game, match-to-match propisition.
But as a unit, obviously England have the goods to take this series out, but the Aussies will be glad to know that a win in the next Test can wrap the series up.
