Towards the end of the third test match, England allowed Australia to score some 4-5 extra boundaries, just to make sure Ponting/Lee doesnt keep the strike when Warne/Lee/McGrath were at the other end. Now thats almost 20 free runs. And besides how is 50+ runs only?? We needed ONLY one wicket.

I agree Australia have been lucky but so have England, Australia have looked close to winning both tests. And it cant just be luck that made them get so close. You can go on and on about outplaying and rain but the fact is u only beat them by 2 runs and they were only 50 away

Not denying that we've had some luck, you don't get anywhere in sport unless you have luck, but to say we've been lucky through the whole series is ridiculous. Although we only won by 2 runs in the second test, we still won. We outplayed Australia in that test, as we did in the 3rd test, but full credit to those Australian's who stood up for their team and stopped us winning!

i think symond's is a more powerful hitter of the ball than KP. He also has the world record for most 6's in an innings in first class which is 16 and 20 in the match which is also a record. i would reely like him to pay.

Symond's just got his 50 for lancashire against yorkshire and is in great form scoring 2 centuries in 2 county games and a century in a one day match.

but Aust are finally facing good bowlers and its like the good old days again going down to the wire reminds me of the West indies in the early 90s 80s Aust battleing away and fighting to win I love it
Yeah, your right Adster.
The West Indies in those days is the only thing I can compare this England attack with.

It's the best bowling attack in cricket at the moment isn't it. It's just bloody relentless.

Symonds must replace Katich, couldn't be any worse

I think we very well know the difference between county level cricket and test level cricket. But yeah, I do agree that Symonds is a sensational all-rounder, and a true match winner. However I dont think he is the kind of player the Aussies need at the moment. They need someone who can settle down, frustate the England bowlers and build an innings. I dont think the power-hitting of Symonds is quite required as they already have one Mr. Adam Gilchrist. I think Brad Hodge would be a good option in place of Martyn, Clarke or Katich.

I put my money on england to win australia 2-1 in the ashes , Englands played better cricket than australia so far , and has been plenty of sledging by both sides so far.

I dont think making perdictions in this series is really a good idea. Its quite clear that England are playing better cricket at the moment, but you never know when it comes to the Aussies. Majority of their players have to spend time at the crease; Martyn, Gilly, Katich. The only batsman who is out of form is Hayden. He has been out of touch for an year or so.

You also create your own luck in sport.

never thought i'd see an aussie say that on here :clap

If you put in tremlett into the attack instead of Hoggard it would be even more fiery.

Symonds maybe a big hitter but i feel he wont last the full five days. His performance will drop by day four.Brad Hodge is ideal. He had the one of the best seasons for an overseas player last year in england.

I really dont think Martyn or Clarke should go. Martyns timing could really fustrate the England bowlers. Also i think although i like Katich he should go. Symonds can put a different sort of pressure on England by getting quick runs and can also bat slowly like at the begginning of his lancashire innings. there is a difference between County level and INternational but he has proved that he can make it as shown in the ODIs. Unfortunately also Katich might also go because he is Left hander and i think Symonds will be able to handle Flintoff more easily.

England have some ok players but Flintoff is really winning the series for England atm. But him and Bret Lee have their differences and i would like to be Flintoff when Lee is bowling at him of a hard pacy pitch. Just think what would happen if he went out of form or got injured?

Well they called it off an hour ago. First rain in Manchester so we don't win the third test and now the entire Scotland/Aus match called off. Don't you just love the British weather?

Australia played better than england in the fiirst test , england played better than australia in the second and 3rd test , not to forget the key england players sre on form now .Dont think I'm joking about this becuase I heard it and seen it on the mirror and the sun newspaper , this club member of lancanshire went into the dressing room and seen , mcgrath , gillespie , hayden , ponting , and other guys ,dancing around the the table with a flower on the table and chanting ' RAIN RAIN COME AGIAN '. The guys were obviousley desperate for the rain to come and keep going . But ponting saved the aussies and what a great knock it was to . The drop catch by pieterson , proved costley.
