Wow Australia recovered well (again). When I was surfing through the channels they were about 270/5 or something. Great stuff from the world champions, again.

when did anyone say that we were a one man team?
No one said that. He's just pointing out one of the reasons that the Australian cricket team is a brilliant one. Gilchrist's performance was brilliant again. When I switched channels to check the score I saw New Zealand trailing by 462 runs. I thought, but hadn't they got just 300-odd for 5 yesterday? Just brilliant batting.

256 run partnership between Gilchrist and Martyn off only 46 overs as well. We're definetly going to miss Gilchrist when he retires. Gilchrist's 162 came off 146 balls :o Warney chipped in with a 50 off 37 balls as well :)

very true he is the best ever. haddin is becoming a good backup for the ashes though since he got captaincy. at least we will still have an attacking batsman keeper when he retires and not back to the ian healy great keeper who can bat very well occasionally sitution pre-gilly

Sweet when is Gilchrist retireing :o
hehe. He was dropped by marshall, hard catch though, but it would of saved 100 extra runs being scored.

Flemming was victim to another Kourtzin shocking decision, that diddn't help New Zealand much.

Thats from the first innings, 47 overs is ridiculas for 1 bowler, double what all the other bowlers bowled.

New Zealand lack a good pace outfit with Oram and Bond missing. Perhaps Franklin will fill the gap but 47 overs is not amazingly high for a spin bowler, in a long innings. At least bowlers in India frequently do it. I guess it is different because they are expected to be seamer-friendly wickets.

So is this match heading towards a draw or can the Kiwis bat out Day 5?
