Australia could even try playing Macgill in the ODI side.
Can`t do worse than Lewis and Co. !
They should have done a long time ago, but as Kodos says, it's probably better to play a youthful spinner now. Not that Hogg is young.

No point bringing MacGill back in the ODI side. They should persist with Hogg who has done a pretty decent job in recent times or bring in one of the younger bowlers such as Cullen or Casson.

Nice to see the South Africans enjoying the victory and experiencing a hangover after Sunday night's game. Cricket seems to be striving in South Africa and the popularity of the game should surge after the performance. Also Australia losing isn't too bad :D Participation rate has increased by 12 per cent i think and is the highest increase by any sport in a decade.

Watch out South Africa in the world cup, they are probably favourites atm and Australia 2nd if they can put on their ful strngth team.

i think its a bit silly to be declaring who is favourite atm...given the WC is 1 yr away and theres plenty of ODI cricket to be played in that 12 months.

all australia have to do is sort out the bowling and they're set.

MacGill would have gone for a few in that match. If he would have got wickets we will never know cause the mistimed shots were going to the fence.
Hes a bit like Tait I guess, can be wayward but gets a lot of wickets.

I guess we'll never know what some serious wrist spin could have done on that pitch, but I'd like to think MacGill's attacking style could sort out a few batsmen.

I can't wait to see how controversial our side selection is for the first Test.

On a side note, it's good to see Boje back in the squad. I've always rated him the better spinner out of he and Botha.

On the other hand, it's probably a great thing that so many of our test players missed that ODI series.

You mean to say that Mick Lewis isn't in your Test Match squad?

Geez the 5th ODI was INTENSE. it was bril 2 watch, even my sis and mom watched.

O ya, SA dont hav the batting to hav a really big innings (650+) and Polly(Pollock) is on the way out. Not enough "test specialists" for the proteas...

I hope Kallis strikes some great form. He is the man who has to do it for SA with the bat. Smith and Gibbs are the other two guys who should be making sizable contributions. But Gibbs has been an underperformer in tests, considering the talent he has.

South Africa won and would have won easily if pollock had been playing
but the only thing i think should happen is that lewis should be kicked out of the ODI squad

I would say this World Cup is going to be close. I think Australia, NZ, SA, India and Pakistan have all shown that they are strong ODI sides at the moment.

Favorites have to be the defenders Australia. Sorry, but SA havn't done enough yet.

Not neccessary the defenders cause if you look at England rugby they certainly won't go in favourites. Pre rankings, players will decide who is favourites.
