It's more about the timeframe than the runs. The declaration was quite timely, after all, the players can only guess how bad the light is and promoting Gilchrist was an excellent manoveur. If they bowl true, then they should win. If not, a loss seems somewhat ridiculous.

They could have promoted Symonds too, both would have done the same job I feel. Nothing wrong with the declaration they had to do it sometime before the end of the days play.

If you dont have foxtel dont forget to watch the news or sports tonight to see the highlights of the Nel/Gilchrist confrontation.
Looks like SA arent even gonna try chasing the tearget and are playing for the draw.

Groundsmen in trouble again.
Last night they decided to fill in a hole in the middle of the pitch(right where clark is aiming) luckily the umpires noticed and made them dig it all out again.

damnit! we need some wickets...cricinfo think its highly unlikely there will be much of a post-tea session.

c'mon Kasper....here's your chance big fella!

Well Kasper is being hammered, Clark is doing his usual without taking wickets. Lee did take most of his wickets in his second spell so heres hoping it happens again.

Well mr Spinner got De Villers, looks like we will have to rely on him once again.

Looks like the selectors are being shown up yet again with recalling Kasper, he hasn't done any more than what Dizzy would have done.

Ooooh a wicket!

Its fun going on and on about something whenever there is the smallest chance.

If our selectors were smart they would have picked Dizzy. Hopefully Tait gets a go next test if Kasper doesn't do much, we brought Tait over may as well see what hes got. But that doesn't look likely cause this ones looks to be heading for a draw.

Warnie picks up the other opener too, there maybe hope for Aus yet.

use cricbuzz, it's much better.

Lunch on day 5. SA requiring 282 with 6 wickets in hand. The game seems to have swung in Australia's favour.

So he could under perform and you could say "If our selectors were smart they would have picked Kasper" :p
