Who will win

I am atleast happy I cannot blame KL for this loss. Also a fight that was shown by lower order. Also Pant is on thin line!

Today's game has shown us what will happen in this world Cup. Rubbish Selection can't understand why Ashwin is preferred in T20s and India going with 3 spinners in Australia.

It was clear that today was meant to be an experimental selection though. We’re a team that has been reticent to play two all-rounders even with Pandya and Jadeja in the past, do you really believe we’ll play Axar and Harshal in the lower middle order in the WC?

Ashwin wasn’t bad at all today to be honest, he had Rossouw dropped off his bowling and was unlucky to go big in that third over of his. I don’t think he’ll ever be a solution to our bowling woes though, he works in DC because Axar can tie down one end allowing him to be more experimental with his bowling whilst he’s backed by two aggressive pacers in Nortje and Rabada (in the past) and now Khaleel. We don’t have a quality wicket taking pacer of that calibre in the team setup now barring perhaps Shami on form. You can’t rely on Ashwin to be your holding spinner or your main attacking option with the white ball, he’s the luxury option who can get you a couple of key wickets at a good economy rate if he’s used properly in any phase of the game which is his key strength.

Our bowling today was inconsistent if I had to rate it, Chahar in the death and Siraj in the opening ten overs were awful whilst Harshal and Umesh veered between excellent and atrocious in the same over between deliveries. No point in trying to assess them on a flat deck that has these tiny boundaries personally. And as I’ve noted before, we’re doomed with our current bowling unit anyway. If we are to challenge for the WC, it’ll have to be on the back of our batting unit which had two starters missing today. Only lesson learnt today worthwhile is that DK can do a job in the last five overs if needed but anything beyond that will be asking a bit too much from him.

I am still not convinced by the frequency with which Dravid is chopping the XI. Reminds me of his days as captain, where we tried Irfan Pathan in the Top 4. Dravid needs to understand that this isnt a School XI where he needs to give chances to each and every player. Very disappointed with this management of the side. I mean, despite the resting and all, you still end up having injuries on your end.

A lot of people of Social stating that India could have won with KL and Virat in the mix. Ideally, India could have won the game yesterday had the brainless coach stuck to a proper batting order. It was like a game of Cricket 2007, where I could send out whoever I want to

Back to the rotation policy-The 1st question- why rest them ? Have they not gotten enough rest? SKY- why has he not been rested at all? Arshdeep having a stiff back- again- how do these injuries prop up ? Why isnt the physio held accountable for this?

Analysis of the match- t was the bowlers that cost us the game. Unfortunately the very same bowlers will be in Australia and that might not go down too well for us, again. Time and again, we see Mohd Siraj being tried in the shorter formats. He gets carted aplenty and certainly isnt a T20 bowler in my eyes. Dunno, what they see in him tbh.

The more I see Dravid as a coach now the more I realise that is was Dravid who was the culprit all along , Chappell was just made the scapegoat.

Some one should stand at other end... Situation like this Virat style of play justified more and more...

Could have. But the questions begs- who?

Iyer, Pant, SKY, DK, Deepak-all played out of position. Either that or someone should have been asked to hold fort.

Also feel that Rohit gave his wicket away as he wanted to see what the team could stitch together if he werent around.

Not only scoring, holding the wicket from one side with atleast 130 to 140 strike rate, and let others to play agressively...
Then why not ask Virat himself to do it? Since he is the best player in this side from the last decade or so.

Then who will keep wicket from another side... Who is capable to do it!
If every player is scoring quickly then there is no real need of it. The shot selection is India's problem off late. Infact it should be pleasing signs to see more aggressive players come into the set up considering the archaic brand of Cricket we are playing. This is the same thing that gets talked over and over again at this place.
