New Zealand vs Australia
First ODI Match
End of 50.0 Overs

A thriller of a contest ends with............ winning

So here we go ladies and gentlemen, it's the last over of the match as Australia need 6 runs from the last 6 balls to win the match, with Cameron White and Ben Hilfenhaus at the crease and with the last over being bowled by Peter Fulton, it's hopefully going to be a close and entertaining finish.

First Ball: Ben Hilfenhaus was on strike at the start of the over to Fulton. The field has been set well by Vettori, so the singles have been cleared up, and on the fence as well, it looks to be hard for the Aussies to get something here. The first ball was to Hilfenhaus as he guided the ball back past the bowler, and hits down the ground, they find the single easily, which brings them to 5 runs from 5 balls

Second Ball: Now with the clean hitting Cameron White on strike the field stays the same by Vettori as Fulton comes in to bowl. The crowd is going nuts and clapping everytime Fulton starts his run up and to the time he bowls. Clean shot from White, through covers and beats the fieldsmen on the circle, they could pick up two here, and with some good running they do pick up the two runs, well run between the wickets and it brings White back on strike. Australia need 3 runs from 5 balls

Third ball: With White back on strike, Aussies only needed the 3 runs to win the match and with the field staying the exact same and Fulton steaming into bowl again, the crowd is getting intense here. White, again cleanly hit the ball to covers and once again hit it hard enough to beat the fieldsmen on the inner circle and with some quick running they picked up another 2 runs. Now scores are even here in Auckland

Fourth Ball: Scores are level here, and now White only needs to pick up the single to win the match for the Aussies. Fulton comes steaming in once again with the crowd clapping at any chance they got to pump up the Aussies to get over the line. A yorker length ball from Fulton was good enough for White to miss judge the ball which ended in a dot ball. Good response from Fulton as he isn't giving up hope just yet. Australia need 1 run from 2 balls.

Fifth Ball: Only the 1 run needed by the Aussies now to win the match and after a good ball from Fulton he'll be looking to do the same and try and make this match a miricale one and have it come down to the last ball of the match to determine the winner. Which is exactly what he did, another yorker length delivery, as White hit the ball but went straight to the fieldsmen, another dot ball, which gives the Aussies one run to get off the last bowl. It's going to be a classic

Sixth Ball: White is still on strike, and after the two dot balls he'll be looking to get a little something on this next ball and win the match for the Aussies. Fulton comes in and the crowd is sitting back in their seats. Fulton bowls.... White gets bat on ball and runs past the bowler. Fulton dives but not quickly enough, it gets past him, White waited on the call, but yelled out "yes" to Hilfenhaus as they picked up the single, and what a way to celebrate, a huge cheer came from the crowd, as Australia won the match

Australia celebrate the win against New Zealand in a thriller

Aussieswin.jpg

What a wonderful entertaining match we had here and that last over was entertaining just by itself. Some good shots played by White which were powerful enough to pass the fieldsmen twice in the circle to run away and picking up 2 runs on both occasions. But some good reply's from Fulton as the next two balls were dot balls which put that extra spice into the match as it came down to the last ball to determine the match, as White pushed it back past the bowler and picked up the single, the Aussies win the match by 3 wickets in the end, a classic of a finish

Great win from the Aussies there although White almost managed to stuff it up.

Really good writing there, just a suggestion though leave the result out of the title as it ruined the suspense. Has great potential :cheers

What a thrilling match! White batted smartly, so did Hilfy getting the single on the first ball to get White back on strike. White nearly blew it thanks to some good bowling by Fulton though. Fulton was probably trying to use the yorker to much and when he failed it resulted in a half volley.

Great writing mate, it's just brilliant. The graphics are awesome too! I love the pitch map. kiu!

Awesome match with an awesome ending. White batted intelligently and even Hilfenhous did what was required. Read the update in suspense and it was a brilliant over, with some good bowling and batting. Very good climax.

Keep up the quality work, Roo.

Thanks a lot for the wonderful comments guys. Defiently wouldn't be continuing this story without your wonderful comments all the time

Updates coming soon, the presentation ceremony

Good win there for the Aussies. White and Hilfenhaus played sensibly and won the game for the Aussies. Brilliant update there Roo but a bit surprised by Vettori's decision of giving Fulton the last over.

Great gfx and updates Roo :clap

Presentation ceremony

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome back to Auckland, where we are about to part with the Presentation ceremony. What a wonderful match we all just witnessed, with the Aussies coming out on top by 3 wickets, with Cameron White getting the winning runs. It was a sensational finish to the match with Shaun Marsh helped setting up the victory with a good innings making 57 to really set up the match.

So we're now joined by the victorious captain, so please welcome Ricky Ponting to the stage, Welcome Punter

Ponting-3.jpg
Thanks mate

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
You would certainly be happy with the win, a good score for a quick track?

Ponting-3.jpg
Yeah, we're certainly more then happy with the win, it takes us to 1-0 in the series now, so we're looking forward to the next match against these boys in a couple of days in Christchurch

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Happy with your opening batting line-up, with Marsh and Mike Hussey bringing in a lot of runs, yourself and Katich played good knocks as well, is that a weapon you'll use against the Kiwi's.

Ponting-3.jpg
Well of course we give ourselves the upper hand with our batting line-up. Without the absense of Haydos at the top, it gives someone like Marsh to have the opportunity to bat the top, and he played very well. Huss played well considering myself and Katich fell short of a good start, but we'll be looking to get off to a good start in the match in Christchurch.

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Well mate, we all look forward to the next match in Christchurch and we wish you all good luck

Ponting-3.jpg
Thanks mate, appreciate it

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Now let's welcome the loosing captain, Daniel Vettori, Dan welcome, dissapointed obviously

Vettori.jpg
Sure we're dissapointed, but we will take a lot out of this match and we'll bring it to use into the next match for Christchurch. I think our bowlers bowled well, ecspecially Franks and Fults, they did bowl really well throughout the match, i think we need another spin bowler to help myself out, and get the run rate coming down a bit in the middle overs, and it's something we'll look for in the next match

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Unlike the Aussies, your top order failed?

Vettori.jpg
Well McCullum and Taylor didn't get off to a good run, but then we had Fulton that came on and nearly made a one day century. Just fell short in the end, but it was a sensational effort against the spinners and Nathan Bracken early on. And a good knock from Ryder helped us post the score we needed

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Well thanks Dan, and im proud to announce that Peter Fulton is the man of the match for his good knock of 94, and then taking 3 wickets for the match.

Well that's all here from Auckland, as it's Australia winners by 3 wickets. We'll be joined by you in a couple of days from Christchurch for the 2nd ODI match between New Zealand and Australia

Next Match: New Zealand vs Australia @ Christchurch

Good presentation ceremony there. Great update mate but by the way who has won the MOTM??

Good presentation ceremony there. Great update mate but by the way who has won the MOTM??

Yeah sorry i didn't have time to put the Man of the Match speech in their. But just for you all to know, Peter Fulton won the MOM award for his knock off 94, and taking 3 wickets for the black caps

Very nice read there, a well written presentation ceremony. And on the note of Man of the Match, Fulton was the only worth winner to be honest. He was magnificent.

2nd ODI match
Match preview

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Hello ladies and Gentlemen and welcome to Christchurch where we bring you the 2nd One Day international between New Zealand and Australia throughout the Australian's tour of New Zealand. Channel 9 are proud to bring you this match, as we progress closer to the Test matches which will begin later in the month.
The first One Day match played between these 2 teams was a classic match which ended with the Australian's coming out winners by 3 wickets, in a thrilling last over contest, that saw Cameron White pick up the winning runs for the Australian's.

But today is a different day, and the Kiwi's will be looking to get a strike back and draw this series at 1 all. It's going to be a hard task for them, as they are up against one of the best ODI teams in the world, but in all means, they can certainly defeat the Aussies.
We hope you enjoy the contest that will befold us here this afternoon, and we hope you enjoy our coverage of the match as well. I'm surley looking forward to the contest, and i'm hoping it will be a close match like last weekend.
Let's go down to ground level as we are joined by Michael Slater, as he brings you an update on the pitch and the weather out their that will be in store this afternoon.... Slat's..

MichaelSlater-1.jpg
Yeah g'day Mark, and welcome to everyone who joins us from around the world. Now what can i say about the pitch, the pitch is in very good condition at the moment. A typical New Zealand pitch, nothing wrong with it, and i find it hard to see which team it'll favour today, as it's just in a normal nic for the day. But the weather is a different story, it's very warm and mild down here at the moment, would currently say about 25-26 degrees, but if you look up at the sky, you can see a lot of cloud around, and we may be in for a shower or two throughout the night, so let's hope that doesn't come and it can keep away so we can play a full match of cricket, but it is very warm and mild down here at the moment, back to you Mark.

MarkNicholas-1.jpg
Thanks for that Slat's, and as you can see some clouds are starting to bare down on us and may prove a threat throughout the afternoon and into the evening, but hopefully that doesn't happen and we can play this match. Let's now have a look at the two sides that have been named for this match as the Aussies have made a few changes to their starting 11.

teams-1.jpg

So there are a few changes that come into the Australian line-up, with their Wicket keeper, Brad Haddin coming back into the side after having a hand troubled injury, as Shaun Marsh had to take the keeping job while Haddin was out with the injury. Another that comes into the line-up, is Peter Siddle. Siddle is making his One Day debut, and he'll be looking forward to this moment, and a little hint from the Captain is that Siddle might be given the new ball against McCullum and Ryder. Cameron White, who made the winning runs for Australia has been left out of the side this week, making way for Haddin who comes in.
New Zealand have kept the same squad from the last match

Australia have won the toss and elected to bat first here in Christchurch, so we're all ready for the first ball of the match. Stay tuned and we hope you enjoy our coverage of the Second One Day match between New Zealand and Australia.

Great presentation and graphics, Roo, it looks awesome.

Looking forward to seeing Haddin and Siddle perform together and with the clouds being around, there might be some extra seam and Siddle might have a chance at some good figures. Going to be a good match but I reckon another Aussie win.

Australia in New Zealand
New Zealand vs Australia
2nd ODI match
Start of the innings

Australian's come out to bat
(Katich and Marsh head to the crease)

So this is what we have been waiting for. Everyone is on the edge of their seats as the Australian Openers come out from the dressing rooms and are heading to the middle of the crease. Everyone is pumped up here today as Shaun Marsh and Simon Katich make their way to the crease ready for todays play.

As Shaun Marsh heads to the crease, he'll be the player that will be on strike for the first ball of the match. Marsh had a good opening ODI match as he was the Aussies highest scorer, making 57 and making a huge difference in the result of the match. The two left handed players will be hoping for another good start here this afternoon in order to post a good score to win this match as well.
Shaun Marsh in particular will be looking to add onto his good form here this afternoon in Christchurch, and will hope to try and get his team off to the best possible start, as they will want to go ahead 2-0 in this ODI series which is followed by the Test series, later in the month.

Marsh.jpg

Joining him at the crease is Simon Katich, who himself will want to impress people this afternoon as his first ODI match he started in the perfect fashion. Blazing at the start of the innings, but lost his wicket on 28. Katich will be hoping for another good start here this afternoon but will be hoping to expand on that and like Marsh make a good score to try and kick things off for the Aussies to post another big score here in Christchurch.

Katich.jpg

So here we go, everything is set here with Franklin and Tim Southee been given the new ball by Dan Vettori. With Marsh on strike, and Katich ready down the other end, everything looks set to be a blinder. Stay tuned

Nice presentation Roo.Looking forward to the second ODI updates.Loved the first ODI.Was a thriller really.:)KUTGW.
