Australia vs England ODI Series - 7 matches - Sep 4 to Sep 20

Wright gone :D needed a breakthrough right now :happy

Lee strikes just before the ball was suppose to be changed, he's been bowling really well though.

Maybe they need to leave the ball in play a bit longer, seems unfair to take reverse swing out of ODIs. Nonetheless good bowling by Lee.

Why change the ball at all it doesn't go that dark really most of the time and on those occasions it does go really dark the umpires can decide to change it.

Seems they wanted a set standard so that there is no confusion. I'm pretty sure once they changed the ball in the 1st innings they did it at the same point in the 2nd so its definitely not to do with fairness for both sides.

Eng in trouble they have lost 7 wicket now, they are 168/7 need 82 more in 13 overs a very good bowling spell by Watson...

How I hope the selectors will learn from this two farcical matches. It's their fault we're losing this.

Best OD batsman in England isn't playing and you drop your best player from the last game? Logical.

Johnson has been awesome today from both ends :) Great work Johny boy :D

Geez 3 possible catches all falling short, unlucky for Johnson. We really need that wicket with the powerplay still around.

aussie1st added 14 Minutes and 6 Seconds later...

My Cool strikes, 2 to go and don't have to worry about the powerplay! Looking at the tactics I think Strauss is saving the powerplay to the final 5 overs.

Once again Strauss shows that he may be a decent captain in the field, but he is clueless when it comes to taking the batting powerplay.

My team for the third ODI (the selectors will never pick this):
Cook
Shah
Strauss (c)
Trott
Collingwood
Prior (wk)
Rashid/Wright/extra batsmen depending on conditions
Broad
Swann
Sidebottom
Anderson

Bowling attack should stay the same because we've bowled well so far in the field. Cook to play the anchor role and bat throughtout the innings. Shah to hit boundaries at a time when his terrible running will not be soo noticeable. Strauss to perform either role depening on the first wicket to fall. I think Prior can be a very good ODI player scoring runs down the order but I don't think his place is against the new ball. Rashid ahead of Broad, he is a better batsmen. Swann at nine is plenty of batting depth so as long as the top 6 can actually score runs unlike today we should be fine. Lastly, give the decision to take the batting powerplay to someone other than Strauss.

Is it just me that doesn't give a damn about the result of any of these games? I followed what there was of the T20s but 50 over cricket just seems pointless.
It's nothing to do with winning or losing; I'm just barely even checking the results let alone watching the games.

It's just ridiculous scheduling to have the ODIs after the Tests in an Ashes series. Since we've already won the Ashes does anybody care about the ODIs given that we've already won the Ashes? They just seem so pointless given that we've already got the Ashes in the bag.

Oh, and did I mention that England currently hold the Ashes?
