Australia vs England ODI Series - 7 matches - Sep 4 to Sep 20

I don't know what we did with the old White but I'm really liking this new White. Usually in this position he would slog it and get mistimed shots all over the place but now its all about timing and placement.

Well he was always used at dodgy positions anyway, but there's definitely a difference. He's in form, but it's a real coming of age, he's using his head much better than ever.

I agree in principle with Mahmood, there are a few things he's always done pretty well and with a guy like that, you do have to stop and ask whether he's changed anything. In that principle, I look at Rashid. He's a leggie and at his age, a long way before his prime. I'm not going to judge his career on what he does in this series.

He's still the same Mahmood though. Still throws it wide EVERY over.

Still i'd have him over Sidebottom because he actually takes wickets and atm i'd take a costly wicket taker over...well a costly non-wicket taker. And I think it's great how White has been doing so well. What an absolute beast. Serves all you crims right for being so harsh on him before a ball had even been bowled.

Nice quickfire knock from White comes to an end. Anderson gambled on a fulltoss for the second time but this one gets the wicket.

Should probably look to get to about 300, good powerplay partnership by those two. Anderson's taking wickets finally, although hardly surprising as the ball's moving a bit.

Doesn't look like we will make 300 now. Anderson must have enjoyed that break and hes improving the fielding standards.

Michael Holding: says what we all thinking.

And he keeps going on about it, surely someone in CA would have been listening to him and thinking hmm hes making some sense.

Another good cameo comes to an end. Haha that was cheeky by Siddle.

Well you know, the Australian public are not always a tolerant folk, especially when it comes to failure. Loyal to a person who proves himself, but very suspicious until they do. White has been around a long time, nearly a decade and that's long enough to be notorious, either for success or failure.

I think a lot of Victorians have probably seen the best of him and you could go back a long way to find some of us saying he'd be a good batsman not a good leg spinner. I think his shrewd captaincy has also helped keep him in stead, but again it ups the ante in trying to argue to the other 70% of Australians that he'd one day prove his worth.

And to be fair, they weren't irrational. He had done little statistically to warrant a call up and little statistically to keep getting call ups. Credit to the selectors and Cricket Australia, however, because they stuck with a project until it came to fruition.

Unfortunate there for Strauss, solid noise, probably should have just gotten out of the way of that.

Rauf can sod off. That's 2 poor decisions on the trot that Strauss has got. Our gun player gone. Need one of these 2 to make a big hundred.........:laugh

I can't believe Bopara's high score is 60 after 47 matches, that's pretty pathetic.

He's clearly a good OD player though, the OD double hundred batting 3 proves that. Just not done it for England yet. I'm a big Ravi nuthugger though, so I'm keeping faith in him. Still convinced he'll have a good international career.

Congrats to Tim Paine. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does against the other international teams in the ICC Champions Trophy
