Australia's Tour of India - 7 ODI's

EDIT: F_S, what would be your preferred Australian XI?

From this current squad?

1. Shane Watson
2. Shaun Marsh
3. Ricky Ponting
4. Cameron White
5. Mike Hussey
6. MC Henriques
7. MG Johnson
8. GA Manou (wk)
9. NM Hauritz
10. Peter Siddle
11. Doug Bollinger

Bat till 9, and have four bowlers. Three pace and one spinner. Two all-rounders to bowl their shared 10. White can provide some spin, if the pitch is gripping the ball.

Fatal Shot added 2 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...

Watson looks in good touch today! Let him get set. Once he gets past 50, he keeps going. 4 (or 3) centuries for him this year so far.

Watson looks good enough to score 100-150 today. :) That should take Australia to 300+.

Ponting will score 200 today. He looks good.

According to Cricinfo it's 'a slow, dry pitch.'

Yeah. Apparently there is dew evident but in now way will it make it more of a 'bowl-first' pitch. Sunil commented that batting in the 2nd session (India) is going to be tough.

Yeah the pitch will keep getting slower and lower. Players like Sehwag, Raina and Yuvraj will probably struggle with the pace in the latter innings.

So far, the pitch hasnt acted up too badly as expected. It has been better than expected. Maybe 240-250 would be a challenging score on this wicket than 210-220

Shot Ricky, just need Watson to keep the run-rate ticking over with singles and we should be fine.

It's probably due to the new ball. More pace and bounce. Should be interesting when the ball gets old, to see how much bounce it will provide.

What has PK eaten today. Where did that dive came from?

Whats the pitch like?

Not as bad as people around are pretending. Lots of rain last week made this pitch a bit tricky. Bounce is decent so far except for some odd low bounce. By decent I mean playable. We have to wait for slow bowlers/ spinners to see the bounce. No sideways movements, not much of a swing so far. Pitch is fairly dry. The only concern is slowness. Bottom line is for player like Ponting, if he stays on the crease for 5 or 6 overs, he is all set to play long inning.
