It's only 6 an over, that's the point of his run-rate, he's more than capable of upping the rate when needed, he's been holding down an end when the other batsman play stupid shots, barring Colly they've all flayed a bit for their wicket.
His strike rate is 60, that's not good enough, irrespective of the situation. This is a good pitch with no notable demons, this attack, although they've bowled pretty well, is really not as good as we're making them look, and Trott is more than capable of batting far quicker than this. He's putting the tail under pressure, and if we lose another wicket then things begin to look even worse. If he constructs his innings perfectly, rapidly accelerates from here and wins us the game scoring an unbeaten century, I'll give him some praise. Going to be very hard work from here though, I just think he's put himself, and the rest of the team under unnecessary pressure. But maybe I'm just biased because I hate watching him bat?
If we were chasing 150 on a real turgid wicket against a good attack I'd be happy with Trott's innings, we're not. We're chasing 237 on a good wicket against a, lets be honest here, dire attack, Trott should be scoring far quicker than he has. He might yet get us home, but it should have been a heck of a lot easier than this. The RRR should never have been able to get up to over 7 in this chase.
