If it was Bell that had been the mainstay of this innings it would have been over. Even if we win I'm still annoyed at Trott's innings. I just don't get why he wasn't more proactive in taking singles.

Why is Trott giving strike to Anderson? This is not smart.

Yeah, you're right, I don't want him in the ODi side, I don't think he's good enough. The points I made about him a few weeks ago that were dismissed have all been proven here. He struggles to rotate the strike, doesn't score quickly enough off spin and doesn't appear to have many boundary options. Having Trott batting for England in the subcontinent against superior spin attacks to this one is a recipe for disaster. Owais Shah would be a far, far better option, as would Steven Davies.

You would have to admit that Trott isn't guiding this well though....a very gettable run rate has increased dramatically now.
