Bangladesh tour of England, May-July 2010

Check the earlier comments. England should have finished the match earlier on. Also he should have protected the tail. For example he let Anderson play a lot of deliveries, while he shouldn't have done that.

Also check the amount of runs in England's batting powerplay. That's not enough.

Yeah that's true wasted a lot of balls early on they just didn't try to finsih the game early

Nice to say from Strauss that Bangladesh deserved to win.

I would like to know who the Man of the Match is. It would be ironic if Trott gets it.

I would go for Imrul Kayes, who scored 76 runs.

As i mentioned above, Trott isn't a power-player. He is a bit like Michael Clarke in the way he plays. Given the circumstances today, Trott batted to the best of his ability regardless.

Agreed but the situation has to dictate the player not the other way round. If a certain way of playing is necessary you need to adapt, especially as a top order batsmen. When the situation requires a certain type of playing a player needs to give it a go. I ma not knocking him as such as he played brilliantly and was let down by the rest of the top order. However he did leave a number of chances to push things along. I am not saying he should be kicked out or he is rubbish, just saying that he missed a couple of tricks to drag this one through.

I would have taken Shafiul as MOM he was great. bad first over and he came back, he was up for the fight and bowled two or three absolutely key overs that stopped england wrestling the momentum and got a wicket in the final over bowling a slower ball under pressure. He was superb.

Mashrafe Mortaza is the Man of the Match. He scored runs at the end of innings and took two wickets.

Some interesting fact: the most times when Bangladesh wins against a top 8 team Ashraful is in the side.

Well a good win for Bangladesh. England was below average in this match they just easily gave their wickets to Bangladeshi bowlers. Trott was way too slow.

It didn't help also that Swann and Pietersen were rested. But I am still guessing that England will win the next match.

^ or may be Bell as well throw his wicket like other batsmen.

I don't blame them. It doesn't happen too often that Bangladesh wins against one of the top 8 teams.

Yeah why blame them? It's not their fault they can't win matches consistently.

khalek added 1 Minutes and 44 Seconds later...

^ or may be Bell as well throw his wicket like other batsmen.

I still feel even a 20-30 from Bell would have been vital and would have somehow helped England win this game. Without Bell, they lost by only 5 runs and I am sure Bell would have scored more than that margin of victory.

Trott should be the MOM, He won the match for Bangladesh;), didn't he :p
