Breaking news - Saajid Mujahid has been diagnosed with "Mark Vermeulen Disorder" and has been prescribed medication for it...we can expect to see a more settled and consistent Saajid Mujahid in future perfomances.
Apologies for the delay to this update, was halfway through it two nights ago when I was forced to leave it and yesterday i had no power.
Canada Strikes Early, But Bermuda off to Good Start.
Welcome back to this ICC Tri Series match, between Canada and Bermuda, I'm Graeme Pollock, and just in case you missed it, Canada made 8/188, with John Davison picking up a half century, and Dean Sherr taking 4 wickets, now after 10 overs, Bermuda have managed to compile 1/50, exactly 5 an over so far, the only wicket was the wicket of Tobie Chapman, who got dismissed for 0 off 5 balls, and it was a poor first over for the Canadians, the first ball went for 4 byes, but they bounced back in the second over, so let's walk you through these first 10 overs in case you missed them, the Bermudan openers were Chapman and Nic Davies, and they came out looking intent on scoring.
First ball was reminiscent of the 2006/07 Ashes, which may not have started yet since this match is back in 2006, I'm not quite sure, only this one was down the legside and went away for four byes. Then the next over, Chapman was out, caught behind off a thick edge here is the wicket:
Well Chapman made a duck, but Nic Davies and Jack Teague then put on 45 runs for their partnership, to leave Bermuda 1/50 after 10 overs, here are some more highlights, and the stats too:
So that's the story so far, let's go back down to the commentary box and join Darryl Cullinan and Dwayne Leverock, for the next over.
Welcome back to Potchefstroom for this ICC Tri Series match between Bermuda and Canada, and Bermuda now after 20 Overs are a comfortable 3/113, with Nic Davies on 62 not out, and Jack Teague the next top scorer, who made 27, 2 wickets falling in the past 10 overs, for 63 runs, a good performance from Bermuda, who are on top in terms of run rate required, quite easily. They're going at 5.65 runs an over right now, well above the require rate. So here's the scorecard:
So as you can see, some good batting from Davies and Teague, not so much Chapman, who failed to score, and Hander, who couldn't get to double figures, but let's have a look at some of the highlights now, here is the first wicket that fell in those 10 overs.
Well as you can see, a lazy cover drive being played there by Teague and a simple catch for Davison, giving Welsh a wicket for Canada to celebrate about. Then the next wicket to fall was that of Left Hander, who edged one to the slips.
Well the other highlight of the day was Nic Davies getting his 50, an aggressive and brilliant innings, here's some highlights from it:
So that's the story so far, we'll be back in a moment to see if Bermuda can keep it up, and win this match.
Let's have a little bit more talk going, remember the most active posters will be up for captain for the next match (I might rest myself to rotate a little more). Everyone who has posted at least once after their form in this thread will get a game during the series, then I will try and pick our best XI for the World Cup, with assistance from my vice captain.
