Boxing

i think if hatton and gayweather fight at wembely at light welter then rickey really does have a good shot, but i doubt that gayweather will fight at light welter as he knows hatton is much better there.

i also dont think that floyd will get into the ring with cotto yet, its de la hoya, then hatton then claim hes retired again.

i think cotto will fight Paul Williams if he can win his rematch against Carlos Quintana in a couple of months and the winner out of cotto/williams may get a shot at mayweather.

untill williams got beat last month i really thought he was going to be the man to stop floyd as hes so tall and got such a big reach that he could win the fight on the outside and force floyd inside, and he doesnt have the skill to knock out a big man like williams from the inside IMO

I think Floyds class would show as it does so annoyingly frequently, but for me Cottos te only guy out there at his weight who can go round saying he's better than Mayweather, Floyd will need ot be at his best to beat him too and he's not gettting any younger so if he wants to fight Ricky, De La Hoya and stop dodging Cotto he could have an action packed end to his career.

Woods-Tarver, Dawson-Johnson and Cotto-Gomez on the same night soon. The Cotto fight is on sky i think and the others on setanta, Dawson-Johnson will be a good battle of youth v experience and there seems to be some genuine dislike between Tarver and Woods. Cottos is an easy win and is just getting his name out there even more, expect him to call Floyd out after.

As much as I don't believe Hopkins is as good pound for pund asmade out i have a bad feeling baout his big fight, hopefully Joe'll kill him though seeing as he keeps going on about how he isn't scared of dying.

looks like ill be watching Clinton destroy Tarver and sky + the cotto fight cause i think im in work on the sunday.

Hopkins career will be ended by Joe, 100% certain of it

Khan was good, well he was ok I guess, I think he's a cocky twat and if he fights for the title he'll lose. If he fights Pacquiao he'll be on his backside in about 40 seconds.

Lancy I might be going to the Hatton fight too, I found some cheapish tickets from the same site I got the Haye ones from, do you know what time Rickys fight starts? Plus are the views in the council house (couldn't resist a dig :p) rubbish in the crappy seats or are they good?

Oh and the Khan fight was bent, thats not me talking rubbish thats a fact, the evidence is on yootoob.

Khan is scum for hitting him when he was on the floor and then not even apologizing for it afterwards. I'd love to see his reaction when someone knocks him out.

Yep, if it had been Khan that got hit everyone would be going mental. The round went on for an extra 10 seconds or so and meaning the fight got stopped when really Khan should never have had the extra chance to KO him, too. Lucky he's got such a respectable figure like Frank Warren behind him or people could ask questions :p

not got a clue what time the fatman is on yet, i suppose i really should find out lol, 3rd teir is great view for footy, but wouldnt fancy it too much for boxing, im 1st tier, about 15 rows up so should be decent view.

anyway, why the hell was the fight stopped last night, 2 of the pu downs were pushes and khan didnt land a single clean shot!

To be fair when Khan was unloading on him the guy was just running, if he can't hit back then they have to stop it as he couldn't defend himself.

here's the video of Khan cheating. 2:47 there's 10 seconds left, Kristjannsen was knocked down on 3:00 and the fight was stopped at about 3:03

Just read an article with Enzo Calzaghe, really made me laugh, they asked if the freezing gym was a training technique and he said it's ****ing cold becaue i can't afford the ****ing heating :D

I'm not Khan's biggest fan to be honest. I think he's lost his humbleness. He had the biggest diamond watch i've ever seen in the build up to the Kristiansen fight. Down to earth boxers don't wear diamond watches that probably don't even tell the time. My dad used to say this about Naseem Hamed all the time and he says it about Khan as well; He needs to get his arse put on the canvas to be a better boxer.

Anyway i'm flippin chuffed because i've got Hatton\Lazcano tickets. And Calzaghe is going to absolutey paste Hopkins.

Anyone ever seen the original Arturo Gatti vs Micky Ward fight? I've been watching highlights of it on Youtube and I can honestly say, it's the best boxing bout i've ever seen. I advise even the slightest of boxing fans to search for it on youtube. It's amazing. Punch after punch after punch, relentless aggression and fantastic heart from the two. Especially in round 9 when Gatti goes down from a vicious body shot and he looks completely beaten, yet he somehow manages to come back and end the round on top.

In fact, just see for yourself;

Yeh I've got the Gatti-Ward trilogy on DVD, amazing, both take so much punishment and carry on. Gatti's probably my favourite fighter not from the uk just for the heart he shows even if he's not one of the most talented you'll see.

You want some big news, the undercard of Joe-popkins will see the amazing comeback of 36 year old British heavyweight boxing legend Ordinary Audley
Harrison! Seriously looking forward to this next week of British boxing kicking some yank arse even though I think we'll lose both fights.

I spent too long organising how many people were coming to Hattons fight andnow all the tickets are gone :p Can still find some but having to pay a bit extra and they'll be gone, oh well I'll save the pennys for when he beats Floyd at wembley ;)

gatti is a legend, a true warrior and down to earth, it was terrible when i watched him get destroyed by Alfonso Gomez last year, gomez would of been fit to lace his gloves when Gatti was in his prime

and he did.

Woods was so awful, really bad, he got Tarver exactly where he wanted then wouldn't throw more than 1 punch and let him get away. Joe to make it up for us after they all started chanting USA

I don't know a great deal about how good various boxers are (I only really got into it during the Hatton/Mayweather hype in the lead-up to their fight), so can someone tell me whether the Hatton Sky Box Office event next month is going to be worth the ?15?
