Jonathan Trott (87 runs off 52 balls)

Reaction:

Lol again, every other team has now won eight games, except us who've won the big fat zero!

Shakib Al Hasan's batting and what comes out of my ass have a lot in common. We raced to 50 inside six overs, so I promoted him to three, but then he goes and plays some BS slow piece of ████ knock that ****s our innings up.

That total was never going to be enough on the perfect batting strip, yes it was absolutely perfect. Raval was dismissed first ball of their innings for a diamond duck, but Trott just smashed our bowling all over the place.

Just one more T20 match to go.

Reaction:

Daryl Mitchell, you flingen legend!!!

I'm absolutely speechless, 15 games without a win, and bang, we absolutely waste up a decent (without being amazing) Lancashire side.

Our bowling was superb, a late cameo partnership by Croft and Chapple got them up over 100, but some once in a life time death bowling by Daryl Mitchell made sure they would walk off the field with the sick feeling of getting all out. Both our opening bowlers also took two wickets apiece.

When we lost two very early wickets I though it was all over, but I made a gutsy move and decided to promote Imran Arif. Last match promoted Shakib flinged us up, so it was always going to be a gamble. Him and Mitchell played steadily at first, and the required run rate hovered around 6.5 an over, but it wasn't until Arif was dismissed that Mitchell went into overdrive bringing the game home along with Shaaiq Choudhry.

What a day for man of the match Daryl Mitchell, about a month ago he played the worst knock in the history of T20 cricket, but today he became a Worcestershire cult hero, taking us to our first and only T20 win of the 2010 season.

How ironic is it, that our only T20 win comes against my favourite county.

Next up we head back into the 40 over stuff. Remember we won our last 40 over match which was almost two months ago, and now we're on a high after this incredible victory.

I'll post our teams full T20 stats a little later tonight.

Comments:

What a load of ████, the bowling was. Everyone bowled at least one over apart from the keeper, Adler. The most economical bowlers were Kervezee and Shantry who both conceded 26 runs @ 8.67 an over in their 3 overs each. Darren Maddy just totally destroyed us though. Adler was unable to repeat his good form as he got out for a golden duck. Unfortunately, Solanki and Stafford were both ran out when they were getting settled but we never had a chance chasing 226.

It's amazing how different out line-ups are, only three players are common between them.

Pinner comes in for Jayasuriya as we play only one international player. Arif also goes back down to a normal position in the batting lineup.

I won the toss and decided to bat. Mitchell continued his good form from the previous game with some nice shots, but the run rate was not high due to many singles being taken instead of boundaries. Mitchell tried to up the run rate but after hitting one four off N Tahir, he was out the next ball attempting the same thing, having scored 33(26). Pinner had a forgetable T20 debut, getting out for a first ball duck. Solanki didn't last long, while Smith was playing very slowly at the other end and it didn't seem as if we would post a challenging total. It seemed that his difficulties were only against spin however, as with the introduction of Clarke into the attack, Smith hit him for consecutive fours. He managed to reach his century with a pair of fours off Rankin, but was out next ball LBW. He had managed to bring the run rate up, and we were 119/4 with 5 overs left at this stage. We eventually reached 151/6, which was a respectable total.

Both Russell and Mason managed to trouble the batsmen, with the first boundaries only coming in the 6th over. Despite this, no wickets fell, and after 9 overs they were 72 without loss, having just hit Arif for 18 runs in one over. Despite their slow start, it seemed like the openers were not going to require any support in reaching their total. The breakthrough finally came off the bowling of Kervezee with Chopra out for 59. It looked like it would be too little too late, especially when Trott strode out to the crease. He was removed by Russell, but Warwickshire only required 5 more runs at this point. Westward brought up the winnings runs the next over, with Warwickshire winning by 8 wickets.

It was a terrible bowling performance in that match, and my batsmen could have scored at a quicker rate. A disappointing performance overall that means that we cannot finish above last place any more.

Lol, their top order is way overpowered when compared to our bowling attack.

Shakib is back so slots straight back into the side in the place of Pinner. Richardson also gets a go in place of Wheeldon. That Lancashire have a batsman batting above Chanderpaul suggests that he is really good, and I'll have to watch out for him.

I lost the toss and was made to bat. Mitchell couldn't continue his good run of form, out for 7, while Shakib looked out of sorts to be out for 2. The captain would have to stand up and show the rest of the team how to bat, but he too departed in single figures. Kervezee looked terrible in the middle and departed for 1, but Ali was in good form and concentrated on staying out in the middle. These two put on a huge partnership of 126 for the fifth wicket, after it looked like we would be skittle for not many at 27-4. Smith was eventually run out in the 19th over for 72 (46), but Ali stayed till the end to end up unbeaten on 67(52) as we made 165/5.

Russell managed to get Horton out in the third over with the score on 16 to bring the youngster Aimson into the middle. He opened his account with a six first ball, and it was looking like his stay could be deadly. He didn't last for too long however, with Arif bowling him for 16 in his first over. Arif had Moore caught in his next over, but at the other end Richardson was getting smacked everywhere. Shakib came into the attack and somehow Chanderpaul managed to get a top edge off a sweep go over the wicket-keeper's head and for six. It was the most ridiculous shot ever. There were sixes galore in the run chase with Shakib and Arif particularly getting targeted. All the edges went to the boundary, with Lancashire eventually reaching the target with 10 balls remaining.

While it had been a good innings from Ali and Smith, the rest of the batsman will have questions waiting for them in the next training session. The bowlers were unlucky not to have more wickets, but the influence of Chanderpaul got Lancashire over the line in the end. We finished last in our group, 4 points behind Warwickshire.

Smith's just so overrated with the bat.
He's in the top two scorers in 90% of the matches he plays, in all three of our games.

Comments:

Finally, the T20s are over. We finished last. Noone bowled well apart from Kervezee really who took 3 wickets. Jones contributed with the wickets of Horton and Croft but Chilton destroyed us hitting a century. Smith and Solanki batted well and although we were ahead of them for the first 10 overs, scoring 100 odd runs in that period, only half of that amount was scored in the second half of the innings. Anyway, back to the real stuff now.
