Story Brendon vs Callum vs Jono - A Worcestershire Battle

Aah, yes. Why do you think I got dominated in my last match. Imran Arif was injured so he couldn't repeat his great performance in the first OD match. I'll start playing my match now.

Out of my four CC matches, there's a 99% chance I would have won two of them if they had gone on for an extra day each. -_-

Useless Shakib is now back as well... :facepalm
He better make an impact this time round.

Imran Arif was again unable to play, stating he would be fit for the second day but I was not allowed to play him as I would have and just used him for Day 2 and beyond. No changes were made to the side. We really needed to beat Leicestershire but wouldn't be surprised at all if we got hammered.

Comments:

A drawn match and I guess a fair result. Wasn't a bad batting effort at the top of the order although the rest of the batsman pretty much failed. We managed to bat out the entire final day to salvage a draw thanks to Jaques' century but the bowling performance was pretty poor and shows how much we need Arif.

Are one of us ever going to win a CC match? :spy

Oh wow I've never realised that. I've been spelling it wrong for all these years :facepalm

I tell you. The small mistakes irritate me the most. It is Jaques, not Jacques.

Jaques plays even worse than Jacques ! :spy

Do you actually expect me to write something after that flingen ████ performance?

Guess what, "Fail Al Hasan" is now averaging five with the bat in six innings, and over 35 with the ball.

* Says "fling you" to all the Worcestershire players, and walks off. *

:laugh He's in really bad form for you. That was quite a massive loss against one of the worst teams :p Hopefully I fare better

I think they're the third worst team, just above us and Leicestershire.

If he gets injured, will I be able to play Jaques?

CG123 added 0 Minutes and 18 Seconds later...

Also I just got another injury... :facepalm

I think so. You should just bowl him a lot and push him heaps

Our next match is a OD match against my favourite team, Lancashire.
If Anderson's playings, he's just going to rip us apart.

We went into this match with a shuffled batting lineup due to Jaques leaving and Shakib returning.

I won the toss and decided to chuck them onto the crease. After 7 dot balls in a row, they opened their scoring with an absolutely massive six to break the shackles. Boundaries were soon coming thick and fast with Richardson the only economical bowler. Even spin couldn't slow the run rate with both spinners going at over 10 an over. Eventually Cosgrove fell in the 21st over with the score on 136. The runs didn't stop flowing however, as Dalrymple continued from where Cosgrove stopped. Shakib came back for another spell which, while still expensive, managed to contain the wickets of Rees and Allenby. The ball after taking Allenby's wicket, Maynard was put down, in a drop that would prove costly. Richardson managed to take Dalrymple's wicket in the last over, but it was more consolationary than anything than anything, as they finished on 294/4, with Maynard unbeaten on 63(33).

If we wanted any chance to win, we would have to go out and play this almost as if it was a t20. Matters were not helped as despite a six being hit first ball, Solanki was out for a duck, and Mitchell followed him next ball. Smith and Ali put on a good partnership, before Smith fell during the bowling powerplay. Ali followed shortly after and it looked as if we were going to get beaten by more than a hundred runs easily. Arif and Mason had other ideas however, with Arif scoring an incredible 64 from 50 balls, and Mason hitting 46 from 21. 24 runs were needed from the last two overs with Arif and Richardson still in, but Arif fell to Allenby, as we lost by 23 runs. An amazing match, but one that we could have bowled much better in.
