Brian Lara Cricket series A disgrace?

I think it's a great game if you turn the bowling pitch indicator off...when you're batting

I couldnt get the blic 99 demo to work on windows xp. I tried a couple of fixes, but gave up in the end. I saw a video clip of the demo, it looked good.
I remember having a great time with my friends trying to hit 6 sixes in an over. Noone succeeded though :p BlIC 99 was a good game in few respects.

I reckon the game's absolute crap. Installed it for 30 minutes and that was enough to put me off, I am not even gonna bother with its online play since I heard that the game crashes often. Also they changed the controls and made them lot harder for Laptop users. Since I use a grunty enough Laptop for gaming and EA Cric 2007 runs fine or max settings. BLIC 07 is truly garbage, in fact BLIC 05 was lot better.

There must be SOME positive elements to this game.
I can think of at least one....... Like being able to lock myself away for 7 hours on a cold and dreary winters day when my wifes boorish sister comes to see her and constantly tells my missus that she could have married someone better than an old loser who just plays video games !!!

In this case...the game is well worth it.

If you haven't played BLIC 2005, you will like BLIC 2007 - especially the precision with which you can place shots anywhere around the field.

I have played BLIC 2005...and I like it. But is BLIC 2007 really any better?

ps...I still play the Brian Lara game from the nineties.....call me sad..call me old fashioned...call me whatever you want!!!

Confused of Rutland.

BLIC 07:
There are positive elements but just too many negative ones! The amount of bugs and poor AI makes us forget about all the other effort put into the game!

There are other games to fill that time.

BLIC2005 and 2007 were (are) far too arcade to be succesful representations of the great game. BLIC 99 was the most complete cricket simulation game to hit the market and in my opiniong 2005 & 2007 don't even touch it. Calling the series a disgrace is a little harsh, but the previous two installments have been truly lamentable.

I've just ordered BLIC from play.com for ?3.95 on PC. In my view, they should go back to that engine, update graphics and keep the new batting system (implementing a front or backfoot shot option). That would blow EA away, Codies!

Has anyone experienced problems making the Sold Out version run under XP, after installing the XP patch?

Aye...the Madden football games and PES Soccer games give BLIC a right spanking.
More like Command and Conquer and Supreme Commander does the job for me. I'll probably wait for next EA's one as they at least improve on eye-candy and make them playable on Laptops at least.
