Champions League Twenty20 2011

What happens if Hampshire make it to the CL? Jimmy Adams leeched eh? :spy If they do make it, they're seriously real time contenders with the spinning depth that they've got:

Michael Lumb
Michael Carberry
James Vince
Neil McKenzie
Sean Ervine
Shahid Afridi
Nic Pothas/Bates +
Dmitri Mascarenhas
Dominic Cork
Imran Tahir
Danny Briggs

12th man: Chris Wood

Yeah, if Jimmy Adams goes we'd have to get one of Brad Cachopa, Dusan Hakaraia, or Tim McIntosh to replace him.

Good looking NSW side, only real weakness is the keeping spot. Lost Bollinger but the return of Hazlewood helps that a bit.

Warner
Hughes
Watson
Katich
Smith
Rorher
D Smith
O'Keefe
Hauritz
Clark
Cummins

Starc could come in for one of the spinners.

IPL team's 15 man squad comprises a minimum of 5 overseas players compared to the other sides who have a maximum of 2 overseas players. What a sham!

CSK - 7
KKR - 6
MI - 5
RCB - 5

I'm still backing NSW to win this, solely for their national talented depth:

Shane Watson
David Warner
Phillip Hughes
Simon Katich
Ben Rohrer/Nic Maddinson
Daniel Smith
Steven Smith
Stephen O'Keefe/Moises Henriques
Nathan Hauritz
Stuart Clark
Mitchell Starc/Josh Hazlewood/Patrick Cummins

Zack, we miss you:(! We wish you a speedy recovery though, we hope you'll be back by IPL-2012.
Anyways, this one will be too hot to handle for Warriors on Sept 23rd ;)

Chris Gayle
Tillekaratne Dilshan
Virat Kohli
AB de Villiers (WK)
Saurabh Tiwary
Asad Pathan
Daniel Vettori (C)
Syed Mohammad
Sreenath Aravind
Abhimanyu Mithun
Dirk Nannes

We hope to see another rainy runny season from Gayle!

4 or 5 should be "official" limit in my opinion. CSK took 6 last year and this time 7:facepalm.

OMG, its CHENNAI Super Kings, not something else! 5 would be good, 4 would be fairer IMO!

That looks like one hell of a team, especially with their 2 spinners, Tahir and Afridi.
But even if they make it, do you think they will let Afridi play?

Haha, I really hope not for Aucklands sake, although he did play a few blistering OD knocks last season.

Yeah, I reckon they've obviously been paid off by the owners or something what a joke. This is hardly a proper tournament, I certainly won't be following it apart from the games Auckland play in (thats even if they make the actual tournament thanks to BCCI!)

Nah McIntosh actually guns it in domestic OD and T20s, it's really weird lol

Over the last three seasons McIntosh averages 56 in OD cricket (15 matches), so I don't think he'd do too badly. He's actually quite a clean striker of the ball when he swings.

They'll probably take Brad Cachopa if Jimmy Adams can't play for us anyway.

So its all down to whether Hampshire make the english final?? Hopefully Somerset win it then.

Yeah, maybe in tests he was just way too careful, I think maybe he got stuck with the Mark Richardson tag a little bit. If he played with a bit of freedom who knows how he would have done.

Just looked at the schedule and Auckland are playing Kolkata and one of the english teams thats going to be extremely tough to make it through, this tournament really is a joke Kolkata can qualify as finishing 4th in the IPL :facepalm

Yeah, the schedule kind of sucks considering on paper we're well ahead of the WI and the SL team, and they're both in the other pool.

Ruhuna are full of absolute no names except Chandimal and Jayasuriya, while T&T are mainly guys that have failed terribly at the international level.

It is just t20's and all it requires is a quickfire 60 or so from de grandhomme and some magical bowling from hira and we'll be able to beat any side in the competition :p

and as for all the players who decided to play for ipl teams... most of them dont have excuses apart from bravo and pollard who didn't even play in their local competition.

   <--- That will be the Indian's reaction when they see de Grandhomme take them apart.
