Champions League Twenty20 2011

The best format would be to have the T20 winners from each test playing country directly qualifying and qualifiers being played by the runners up.4 IPL teams is just overkill.

I just hope that auckland win over somerset and their run rate gets them through the qualifying rounds.

would be nice to see auckland in the clt20 they have a really good bowling lineup and they would get us that first win if we got the chance.

As well as that, having no internationals, or maybe a single one. Having 4 in a team is pretty stupid.

I can't see it in the TV guide anywhere. There was a rights issue with the IPL, so I imagine this won't be shown either.

It isn't on any channel in Australia I think, not even Foxsports. It used to be on ONE but they got rid of it. It's a real shame because I like watching the domestic teams, especially South Australia, on the world stage.

South Australia should go good again this year just like last year where they came out from no where. But it's a real shame when local players like Blizzard and Christian go to their IPL team when they should play for their domestic team.

Damn, KKR wins!!! I didnt want that to happen. Just wish Gambhir gets more rest as we need him more these days. I dont care about Dhoni and Raina from CSK because no matter how much they play, they dont easily get injured (in Dhoni's case, the guy plays with niggles and yet he is good). Ashwin doesnt need rest as he is anyway going to get it once Harbhajan returns to the national team.:facepalm
Thats being super selfish. The injury that gauti had was a freak injury. any1 can have it..
Zack, we miss you:(! We wish you a speedy recovery though, we hope you'll be back by IPL-2012.
Anyways, this one will be too hot to handle for Warriors on Sept 23rd ;)

Chris Gayle
Tillekaratne Dilshan
Virat Kohli
AB de Villiers (WK)
Saurabh Tiwary
Asad Pathan
Daniel Vettori (C)
Syed Mohammad
Sreenath Aravind
Abhimanyu Mithun
Dirk Nannes

We hope to see another rainy runny season from Gayle!

4 or 5 should be "official" limit in my opinion. CSK took 6 last year and this time 7:facepalm.

OMG, its CHENNAI Super Kings, not something else! 5 would be good, 4 would be fairer IMO!
U chose 5 overseas...I ges nannes will be the man out....bowling looks thin

Well according to 0601731's suggestion, that problem would be solved. There would be no IPL teams at all, because India's domestic T20 comp is the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, not the IPL. :thumbs

I do love a good edge fest. :D

Thought we'd left that a bit late, but Hildreth and Snell were brilliant.

Man, Auckland have just thrown it away. They could have easily been top of the table with 2 wins, but now they are out of this. Feel for Bates, looks a very good bowler.

Did I hear someone saying they'd had 6 months to prepare for this? Certainly beats Somerset's one day. Still though, that Bates did bowl well, but too much pace on the ball for these conditions on the whole from Auckland. I'm glad we learnt from the last time we were here naming 3 genuine spinners in the lineup. Waller continues to impress when the conditions suit.

Champions League ForMat is very good specially qualifiers which will help to maintain quality of cricket in main stage.

I heard many people saying a team from england, New Zealand should be taken directly into main stage, but the way Leicestershire played clearly shows their level. They are england t20 champions and i believed they had their full squad.

having kolkata knight riders in qualifiers was unfair, they should have pick a team from south africa or australia in place of kolkata knight riders.

Australia and south africa county teams level is higher than any of the other country domestic teams. (including india and i am not talking abt ipl teams)
because they have lesser number of county teams in their country so u will find atleast 7-8 players who are capable of playing international cricket for their country or have played.

i am big fan of RCB but i think mumbai indians will win this time if sachin is not fit because he is very poor as captain. MI always had very good side but never won anything because of their approach.

A lot of us would be happy if the IPL didn't exist anyway.

Just hope Chennai ruin your dreams.:D;) Defending IPL (twice) and CLT20 champions!

Without Sachin, MI are far more weaker that his average captaincy issue cancels out. Sachin has been prolific for MI in IPL's. Also teams fear MI more because of the presence of Sachin in the side. He casts fear and respect in the opposition.

i have dream of watching good cricket only and to be frank dhoni is my fav player.

I love sachin batting but he is not the one like raina or gayle who will take the game away from opposition. With sachin batting opposition always have chance to comeback by taking his wicket and giving a mental blow to his team. Absence of sachin will give symonds and pollard to play more overs.

Cape Cobras have also good chance to win the competition. 2009 won by australian team, 2010 by indian team and maybe this is the year of south africa.

I wish Trinidad All The Best with the Competition, they are a Very Strong T20 Side, even without the likes of Pollard and Senior Bravo.

Don't mine when it Comes to the West Indies Domestic Competition we are enemies :D .

I Hope T & T makes it again to The Finals, and Win the Competition this time.
:thumbs Best of Luck.

They wanted to come home and watch some proper sport. (Rugby World Cup and the Warriors) ;)
