A fitting farewell for a legend of the Baggy Blues. Sawyer leaves the club with a 5 fer and his replacement grabbed one himself.

A good match going on here, life without Sawyer begins with a below par performance from the bowlers.

End of Over 8: 47-1, runrate=5.88, reqrunrate=5.29 (268-3)
Blissett 4-0-23-1
Shet* 13 (20 balls)
Crouch 15 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Moodley b. Blissett 13 (FOW: 21/1)

not going to be posting a massive score against the tigers here.

End of Over 48: 232-5, runrate=4.83
Naidoo 9-0-26-0
Edgerley-harris* 71 (68 balls)
Oakley 30 (66 balls)

flat pitch. would have wanted 270+

Eleven Ducks Kaos Warriors
Top Order: strong quality
Middle Order: proficient strong
Lower Order: mediocre worthless
Seam Bowling: superb quality
Spin Bowling: strong proficient
Fielding: mediocre woeful

I love it when I beat a side that's supposedly stronger than me.

I think it's pretty easy to do that in T20s. True to life, a solid bowling attack is very much key. If you've got a bunch of remarkables and one guy just making up numbers, say competent or something, it could still look like a good attack in the reporter ratings, but that one guy will almost certainly be a fatally weak link against a competitive team.

Top order is massive, too. I think your best T20 side always has your most skilled batsmen at the top. Top order dominance is your ideal counter to a good all-round bowling attack. If you've got one standout maybe have him at 3, but there's nothing worse than having crappy openers hogging the overs.

What a freaky start.

End of Over 3: 0-3, runrate=0.00
Fernandes 2-2-0-3
Lumley* 0 (6 balls)
Howe 0 (5 balls)
Last Wicket: Fieldhouse b. Fernandes 0 (FOW: 0/3)

Even more crazy now

End of Over 8: 1-6, runrate=0.13
Naqqash 4-3-1-2
Hume* 0 (0 balls)
Swift 0 (5 balls)
Last Wicket: Squires b. Naqqash 0 (FOW: 1/6)

I see the good old upside batting order has been used.

Really? Any reason why I'm struggling so much in this match vs Ollie? Now regret resting Manders and Carlisle

End of Over 8: 49-2, runrate=6.13, reqrunrate=4.21 (225-5)

Furlong 4-0-20-2

Hollis* 20 (16 balls)
Ingham 0 (0 balls)

Last Wicket: Chavhanga c. Elam b. Furlong 16 (FOW: 49/2)

Well thats not such a bad effort... especially from my new bowler Peters!!

Bring on div 4!! :banana2

End of Over 36: 176-1, runrate=4.89
Bignot 8-0-31-0
Liddlelow* 12 (20 balls)
Samuel 81 (97 balls)
Last Wicket: Alamgir b. Ghandi 78 (FOW: 140/1)

Against Bengal United. Either he's playing a weakened bowling attack, or his side isn't as strong as I thought it was...

I didn't have net and I didn't have Nkosinathi(my star Leggie) in my default line up :p. Instead of him Ashok who is a ████ resp bowler is playing :(

End of Over 50: 279-2, runrate=5.58
Ghandi 10-1-60-2
Liddlelow* 66 (66 balls)
Parol 29 (23 balls)
Last Wicket: Samuel c. Maxim b. Ghandi 100 (FOW: 210/2)

This will make for an interesting runchase, since Parol and Liddlelow will both be needed to bowl now...

Got the incredibly dangerous TaxXI top order out via a combination of my best 3 bowlers, so pretty pleased so far:

End of Over 23: 99-3, runrate=4.30

Rigler 5-0-22-0

Poke* 1 (7 balls)
Braithwaite 10 (16 balls)

Last Wicket: Jordan c. Manders b. Makel 20 (FOW: 97/3)

Let's just hope this doesn't come back to bite me on the bum!

22.4 . Rigler to Poke
Oh dear! There was a thin nick on that and Hollis's dropped it! Rigler looks very unhappy about that.

End of Over 45: 251-5, runrate=5.58, reqrunrate=5.80 (279-2)
Denham 8-2-36-2
Allott* 30 (22 balls)
Makooi 2 (10 balls)
Last Wicket: Kobus c. Alamgir b. Denham 0 (FOW: 241/5)

Funky making a meal of what should have been an easy chase for his side...

ZoraxDoom added 4 Minutes and 7 Seconds later...

46.1 1 Denham to Allott
Allott leaned back and fired it straight up into the air. It's dropped safe though and the batsmen are through for a single.

End of Over 46: 252-5, runrate=5.48, reqrunrate=7.00 (279-2)
Lufu 8-0-31-0
Allott* 31 (23 balls)
Makooi 2 (15 balls)
Last Wicket: Kobus c. Alamgir b. Denham 0 (FOW: 241/5)

I'm finding this hilarious :p

ZoraxDoom added 4 Minutes and 46 Seconds later...

47.1 1 Lufu to Allott
Allott hit that right off the meat of the bat but some fine fielding from Samuel keeps it to a single.

End of Over 47: 255-5, runrate=5.43, reqrunrate=8.33 (279-2)
Denham 9-2-39-2
Allott* 33 (25 balls)
Makooi 3 (19 balls)
Last Wicket: Kobus c. Alamgir b. Denham 0 (FOW: 241/5)

This is amazing. Makooi keeps facing out dot balls.

ZoraxDoom added 4 Minutes and 12 Seconds later...

Makooi took a single last ball, kept strike, and...

48.2 W Denham to Ashok
A bullet-like throw from Lufu to Alamgir, who flicks off the bails in a flash, has left Ashok millimetres from safety. Ashok out.
48.1 W Denham to Makooi
Denham roars one in just below waist height, it clips Makooi in his box and deflects onto off stump. Out and his family allowance may now be in question.

ZoraxDoom added 0 Minutes and 47 Seconds later...

And this ends the over...

48.6 W Denham to Terrell
Incredible pace from Denham, off stump flew a mile. No chance for Terrell, he's gone.

Five-fer for Denham! But, Allot's on strike..

ZoraxDoom added 7 Minutes and 17 Seconds later...

He needed 20 off the last over. Annd...

49.1 4 Lufu to Allott
Short and wide, Allott bisects the gap between point and cover to find the boundary. He got forward to that delivery and punched it firmly.

49.2 1 Lufu to Allott
Stroked into the covers, good running brings a single.

 Tailender on strike, what has Allott done???

49.3 lb1 Lufu to Ghandi
The thigh pad takes the full impact, and kindly for Ghandi deflects the ball backward of square for a leisurely leg bye.

And Allott back on strike! 14 needed in 3 balls! A minor miracle needed...

49.4 4 Lufu to Allott
Excellent pull shot screams away through wide mid on. That really was a classy shot.

10 in 2...will Allott pull it off? Can Lufu hold his nerve...

49.5 4 Lufu to Allott
There's a young lad in the stands in a 'Allott' shirt going beserk as his hero smites that one towards deep midwicket. Long on is coming round, but he's not got a prayer. Wonderful shot, four runs.

6 needed off the last ball! If anyone could do it, it's Allot! But Can Lufu get this one right...

49.6 . Lufu to Allott
Steered to the region of gully.

IT'S OVER!!! THE DUCKS WINN!!!!!

And that's the end of the match. Eleven Ducks won by 5 runs.
Eleven Ducks 279-2
Bengal United 274-8

MAD CHEERING AND WILD QUACKING ENGULF QUACKWOOD POND AS THE HANDFUL OF FANS PRESENT GO BESERK!!! WHAT A WINN!!!!

And Funky was certain he had it won :p

Good bowling by everyone except Manders which is strange lol. Hopefully should chase this down for only my second ever victory against TaxXI

End of Over 2: 10-1, runrate=5.00, reqrunrate=4.50 (225-5)

Braithwaite 1-0-9-1

Chavhanga* 8 (3 balls)
Hedley 1 (3 balls)

Last Wicket: Carlisle b. Braithwaite 1 (FOW: 1/1)
