Commonwealth Bank Series Feb-Mar 2011/12

Dhoni did a Misbah there and in the end got the same result for India that Misbah usually gets for Pakistan while chasing any total.

Dreadful performance from the Indians, compounding a pretty awful fortnight for them.

Sachin has one more chance to register the 'number that shall not be talked about', and then no more cricket for 6-7 months I think. I wonder if that'll be it, if he doesn't get it in Hobart.

I mean going through stats its so funny Irfan Pathan and R Ashwin's one inning against Sri Lanka is more then Sehwags tally of runs in this series :lol

After this series we need to get rid of of some guys and that too on immediate effect. Ravindra Jadeja must go. R Ashwin and Irfan Pathan play together then there is no need of Ravindra Jadeja in the team. Get clear on Tendulkar's retirement thing, he has to quit the ODI format after this series.

Get clear on Manoj Tiwary, if he is there in the side stop persisting with flopstars Raina and Rohit. Another major question is ZAHEER KHAN, he has just played 3 matches this tri series, a big question WHY? Is he unfit then rule him out but he is fit and is constantly given rest, for what? INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE? then fearsome tweak off.

My ideal squad and lineup for following Asia Cup would be

Gautam Gambhir
Virender Sehwag
Ajinkya Rahane
Manoj Tiwari
Virat Kohli
Rohit Sharma
MS Dhoni
Suresh Raina
Irfan Pathan
Ravi Ashwin
Umesh Yadav
Varun Aaron
Vinay Kumar
Praveen Kumar
Rahul Sharma

My lineup would be

Ajinkya Rahane
Virender Sehwag(Pure flat track bully hence he gets into the side)
Gautam Gambhir
Virat Kohli
Manoj Tiwari(I would prefer him over Rohit Sharma)
Suresh Raina(Another pure flat track bully)
MS Dhoni
Irfan Pathan
Ravi Ashwin
Varun Aaron/Praveen Kumar
Umesh Yadav

I seriously don't want India to qualify to the finals!
Rather let Sachin score his 100th ton in the next game!

Please god (Lord Ganesh/Jesus/Allah, not Sachin:p), see that India bats first!

Also, pics sharing threads which are doing rounds in facebook of Sachin are disgusting. How can he perform well if the pic get 5000 shares. Proves there's no lack of dumbasses in the country!

Another major question is ZAHEER KHAN, he has just played 3 matches this tri series, a big question WHY?

Zaheer Khan got injured when we last played Australia with a calf injury.

Vinay Kumar had a hamstring problem.

As I have said, Jadeja's batting was never good enough. In his comeback match in England he made 78 but after that he never really looked in good touch with his batting. is bowling has always been good before he was dropped as well but one of his major role in the team is to come and hit down the order but he is never doing that.

Sehwag has no clue what is he doing. Poking his bat out at every fried chickening ball.

Everybody has struggled in this tour. So I don't think it is any good to point out individuals but Jadeja and Sehwag has been exposed on this tour.

How about 10000?

Dhoni usually ends it up unlike Misbah! Don't compare them in ODIs

Trolling staff, nice. :thumbs

First up is the altered playing conditions that were getting mentioned by a few people, "looks like the new rules don't apply", etc.

This only seems relevant if you don't read it.

Law 37.1 paragraph 2
At first obstruction seems simple, but there are host of conditions that marginalise it. In bold is a very clear caveat. If you knock the ball with an empty hand it can not become obstructing the field. Finito. Whether your hand is on the bat is important in cricket; it is also not out if you glove a delivery to the keeper in this way.

What Hussey did is covered by handling the ball, where there is provision in the laws to allow batsmen to knock the ball away.

Law 33
This is why these sorts of dismissals are so rare. You don't have to get injured, you just have to avoid it; generally with cricket balls, it's safe to say any time one is hurled at unprotected flesh, it's gonna leave a mark. So to compare with the Inzamam case; hitting the ball with bat to avoid injury = out. Hitting the ball with glove to avoid injury = not out.
C'mon how can the third umpire say he wasn't deliberately obstructing the throw? And no is trolling here..rather it was you who was beating around the bush..and weren't coming to a your point.
When Pak does it, its out. Even he was trying to defend if you look at the video.
But things change when Aussies do it.

TBH..even I want Sachin to have that in the next game. End that right there! Get that monkey of the back and go back to his godly form!

The law permits the batsman to handle the ball with his hand (the non bat holding hand). But thats to avoid injury. But here, the intention of the batsman was in doubt. He stretched his hand way too far in front of him to create the doubt that he was trying to deflect the ball away from reaching the keeper. As Dhoni says, we need clearer rules. With so much of protective gear being used these days, batsmen should wear enough protective equipment to easily take body blows, and so they should not be allowed to use their hands to keep the ball away. If you use your hands, it should be OUT!! Then the question of whether the batsman was intending to avoid injury or trying to deflect the ball doesnt come into picture.

Regarding the Tendulkar incident, Lee was clearly obstructing the batsman. He knew the law (that he was perfectly OK doing it) and that he knew Sachin was headed in that direction and so he perfectly positioned himself to slow down Tendulkar. All clarity in the law here is required. If the bowler stands in the way of the batsman's direction and the fielding team runs him out, the decision should go in the batsman's favor. Today the laws of the game were scrutinised pretty hard, and they failed the test.

If you think it's easy to take body blows from a cricket ball being thrown at you, you've obviously never played cricket. You guys are banging on about incidents that occurred in a fraction of a second and making out some huge injustice has been done, when the rules have been applied as they always have.

I know Tendulkar is considered a god to some and can do no wrong, but face it, his decision to run was a poor one. Gambhir dropped it and looked at Sachin, who took off immediately, then showed no commitment by not only not diving, but not even outstretching the bat. Wouldn't matter who it was to me, the batsman was the one at fault.

If India had won the game, both cases would've been forgotten about anyway, but it gives you guys something to whine about even though you're wrong on both accounts.

^ Yeah they never should've taken the run because, lets face it, Tendulkar is pretty slow. But looking back at the highlights I don't think Lee did that intentionally.

Some cricinfo reports even called it a "collision" between Lee and Tendulkar.. it wasn't even close to one, their shirts grazed is as close as it got.

Rather than carrying on saying Aussies are cheats and all that bs, you should focus on just how truly abysmal your team has been all summer with bat and ball. When a guy like Yadav is considered "a good find" with his 50 bowling average and run a ball economy, it's not saying much.

In 12 Test/ODI innings against Australia, India has been bowled out 11 times, and the one game they weren't, they won with 2 balls to spare. Their average score per innings? 217.5. Not going to win many tests or odis with that.. maybe 1 in 12. What about wickets you say? Well, only 68 of those in 12 innings, compared to Australia's 116. Maybe you guys should focus on finding better players than complaining about a couple of calls.

Then why wear the protective equipment. Throw it away and start blocking everything with your hand that comes in your way.
Infact can't blame lee or the umpires the rules are stupid ! Why make them if you don't use them. How on earth is an Umpire gonna know if Hussey or Lee did or did not do it intentionally. What they have to look at to is did he do it or not.
And Lee can run after the ball..that is in the rule, he can go after the ball but not stop wherever he wants to in between the field. And Sachin could have dived in..with his bat! Bad call or not, they don't matter.
It is like the hawk eye what Daryl Harper said..Hawk Eye is just a predication. You can predict in an International sport of what a batsmen/bowler is thinking.
I don't blame Lee on that run out. But Hussey's was a total failure ! Erase these rules away if you can't use them properly. Or well when you don't use them at all.
If we win we would have made less issue about this. If you think logically, who would? If right decisions were made..then I would love to see Aussies coming up with their bunch of senseless opinions.

Boy which world are you from? He might be slow in the field but have you even seen Tendulkar run between the wickets, he runs like he as got a Machete on his back. He is as fast as Dhoni or Jadeja..get your facts right lad!

We were pathetic this whole summer. No one is gonna disagree on that! Its a fact. We sucked.
But stop justifying on something that is totally obvious. Those 2 wickets would have been really crucial and especially on a game of such importance for us.

Tendulkar is pretty slow.

Big boy hasn't been watching cricket lately eh? Have you seen Sachin's running between the wickets? He is one of the fastest when it comes to running between the wickets.

He was running alright until Lee came in between and he had to cross him to reach the crease. When he was trying to cross him, he had to take that couple of steps more to reach to the crease.

He could have completed the run easily if that stupid ???? wasn't in his way.

To the people who think Lee was blocking. Well, He ran towards the wicket to run out but he saw Warner and froze to watch the throw. I've seen Lee do that PLENTY of times. Every time he sees somebody about to throw he just freezes.

Lee would never block someone intentionally. That doesn't mean he can go anywhere in the field and stand there waiting for the next move. It should have been turned down... I don't blame Lee but the Umpiring was horrible.
Taufel and Billy are one of the best...mistakes do happen. But twice in the same match + a do or die for us. No one will take those decisions lightly.

Thats questionable really, maybe the fastest on the Indian team but no way is he one of the faster runners in world cricket.
