Just had the most amazing Test match playing as New Zealand. Lost the toss and were put into bat, that decision quickly seemed a good one from Vaughan, as we were bowed out for 51
. Matthew Bell top scoring with 10 =/, was a seriously shocking performance, I just had the batsmen on 2 bars of batting (defensive) and they still managed to capitulate for 51.
Then in reply England went along nicely, making 358, with Strauss chipping in with a hundred, plus 54 from Flintoff. Was a fairly decent bowling effort as well, bar Chris Martin who was crap. Then the miracles started to happen, with 2 magical innings in our 2nd innings, Jesse Ryder smashing a massive 175, plus a very handy 99 from Brendon McCullum. That left us on 568 all out, with England needing 246 to win from a day and a half.
Amazingly, we managed to pull off a win, by just 15 runs. It wasn't looking good when Strauss and Bell were going along nicely, with Bell making 80. He was around until very near the end, falling as our 9th wicket, giving us a real chance. Then with just 15 runs left to win we took the final wicket. With Oram picking up a 5fer to add to his 3 in the first innings. What an amazing comeback, to come back from being bowled out for 51 to win a Test. Awesome stuff, especially from Ryder.
