I had no idea that Vaas could do such a good impersonation of Saeed Anwar :p

lol... :lol

Anyway, Jason that is a nice thing you did by including the name of the person who's pick is next. Now he would know at a glance whenever he's online....

Well I thought I might as well use my new magical moderator powers :D

Gazza has missed his 24hr window, which means the show must go on. User2010 it's your chance now mate :thumbs Then mohit has a double pick to get us started on the Australia round. Gazza you'll have to just fit your SL pick in where you can. And a new Pakistan pick too :p

Title should be changed to User2010's pick ;)

He had an average of 3.00 in the 2003 WC.

Ah yes I'm reading that article too :p

Here it is for those interested:
Cricinfo XI: Big billing, small deeds | Regulars | Cricinfo Magazine | ESPN Cricinfo

From that list, I've already picked Aravinda :( Although he's allowed to have one bad World Cup in 5 gos I reckon. Plus his 1996 was more than good enough to make up for it.

However in 2007 he was the second highest run-scorer to a rampant Australian opener, as he lead his country to the final. Having also played in a semi and the 1999 world cup he gives us a bit more experience.

Playing the cards close to the chest - I like it :)

So, I guess you're up Mohit :thumbs

----------

Not bad picks in Mahela and Sangakarra, considering what's left.

Kumar Sangakkara

526 runs @ 31 (almost) with a strike rate of nearly 75 during the two World Cups is an impressive record for a wicket-keeper batsman. Plus, he's a captaincy material. (Not much to write about)

Ah yes a keeper. Will be interesting to see when those start getting picked. One in the Aussie round definitely...

Mahela Jayawardane

One of the best batsman Sri Lanka has ever produced, a stylish middle order batsman. He had dismal run in World cups for Sri Lanka but in 2007 it all changed for him, he lead his team to final with brilliant performances throughout the tournament. He saved his best innings for the most important match, the Semi-Final's where his century ensured Sri Lanka got another shot at the Championship Title.

Not that it isn't a great a write-up, but Mahela's already been picked by Gazza :p

On the plus side - you get the 1st Aussie pick :thumbs

Nice picks in Mahela and Sangakkara. Sangakkara is surely a bonus because he is a keeper-batsman.
