Thanks for the comments boys i reckon i want the Bushrangers to win aswell. Thanks for your honesty Left_Hander and your bold prediction when the game was almost over. ;) Cheers

Good win there by Victoria. Slatter needs to prove his batting and bowling skills to selectors.

ING Cup ? Game 4
Victorian Bushrangers Vs New South Wales Blues
The MCG, Melbourne
25th November 2006

With the wicket of Hussey falling it?s time for me to make my way out to the sunny centre of The MCG. It?s always good to have plenty of overs to get comfortable and then go the tonk in the final overs. The outfield is looking pretty quick from the dressing rooms so it shouldn?t be to hard to score some runs once I get through the early stages.

When I got out to the middle after parsing a fuming Dave Hussey to which I offered the words ?bad luck mate? but all I got in replied was ?****in Hodgey?. Fortunately Hodge feeling more optimistic about the situation when I reached the middle as he said ?Let?s just forget about that now we have to go on it was just bad luck for Hus. I must have slept well last night because im hitting the ball really well. Let me take care of this.? So I did.

Hodgey wasn?t lying either he really was smashing the thing around on our home ground as I took a back seat to his antics and pushed around for singles on the way to 3.

Hodgey and I both agreed on the game plan of turning over strike for these next 5 overs and then stepping it up in the last 10 over. If all goes to play we should be on track for 260 or even 270.

Some accurate bowling proved to be very difficult to handle as the New South Welshman had the better of the situation and holding me back from scoring freely until I attempted a lofted drive out to deep cover that just fell short of the man coming off the fence. Is it luck or am I meant to score some runs today?

The situation turned sour when the introduction of Aaron Bird was made and within a few balls he had Hodgey trapped in front and the finger went up. The ball is now in my court as to whether we mount a competitive total or not as Cameron White is the new man in.

The skipper Cameron White provided the boost that we needed coming in and hitting the boundary twice to move his score along early. All is set for an entertaining final 10 over, which could prove the difference between victory and defeat against the struggling Blues.

It?s funny how a situation can change so dramatically with the fall of a wicket and Cameron White set out to prove the theory getting caught in front and out LBW for 9. Now my game plan must change as I will have to wait longer to go the smash otherwise I risk exposing the tail to early and in a one day game that can mean the difference between a competitive total or a half decent one.

Last time Nathan Pilon and myself batted we got the Victorians a comfortable 80 run partnership, which turned out to be game winning. I let Nath know that we just needed to take it easy for a couple of overs and them it was hit out or get out in the final 4 or 5 overs.

With just 5 overs to go and the run rate dropping slightly it?s now time to throw the willow in search of at leased a score of 250 that would be competitive against this experienced Blues batting line-up.
