That's a good question Gilchrist i would have tipped the Blues to play off in the final against Queensland. It's good to see a bit of discussion about the story. Cheers

Pura Cup ? Game 4
Victorian Bushrangers Vs New South Wales Blues
The MCG, Melbourne
29th November 2006

Back at the MCG after a 3-day break for this Pura Cup match between the Victorian Bushrangers and the New South Wales Blues. This one is shaping up as the make or break game in the Blues season as they sit on the bottom of the standings without any points which is a big shock after they were picked as favourites at the start of the season. The Bushrangers on the other hand are flying and on top of the Standings. They will prove a massive challenge for the Blues in this match.

The Pitch Report

It?s the typical MCG wicket down here as it will play equally throughout the match. You would expect the winning captain to have a bat in these warm conditions and set up their team to win this match with runs on the board. There?s not to much more to say about this pitch but it should make for an interesting game.

Day 2 ? Sunny, Warm 24
Day 3 ? Sunny, Cool 19
Day 4 ? Sunny, Warm 20

The Coin Toss

Dominic Thornely calls tails and wins the toss

Dominic Thornely ? ?Ah yeah we?re gonna have a bat. I think it will best favour the team that bats first and hopefully we can get a good total on the board which will take us a long way towards winning our first match of the season.

Cameron White ? ?I would of liked to bat first but our bowlers have been red hot lately so we?re looking forward to getting out there and doing our best to keep our undefeated record on track.?

The Teams

A big plus for the Blues is that Simon Katich is back in the team after being released to play from the Australian test squad. It?s never easy to get the Blues best team on the park with international duty these days but they do have a side capable of winning this match. The Victorians have fielded the same side that has guided them to the top of the table so far this season and with wicket takers like White, Lewis and Wise along with the batting talent of Klinger, Hodge and Hussey it will not be easy for the visitors.

NSW, Katich is avaliable but Thornley is the skipper? hmm...... Come on Brad Haddin, make another 154!

Haddin + Katich = innings win for NSW.

The day that happens, I will support Victoria. :noway :cutit :getyou :gundown

Maybe i did or maybe you have realised that in a room of top bloke Victorian's are the most top. Should be a good game even though NSW are on the bottom. I'll get into the match tomorrow after my last exam was today.
