The wkb ever in ODIs, former world #1 bowler, a batsman averaging in 50s, an alleounder, two experienced seamers. Perfect so far. Hoping to get a Frontline spinner now.
Well I think that's the captaincy sorted for this team.
2. Phil Salt (R2)
3. Stephen Fleming (R7)
4. Jacques Kallis (R1)
7. Jahurul Islam (R5)
8. Lonwabo Tsotsobe (R6)
9. Manjural Islam Rana (R4)
10. Ashley Mallett (R3)
A 45-ball 57 on ODI debut and a first-class average in the 40s suggest that he should have played more; an ODI average in the low teens suggest that maybe he played the right amount.
1. Hashim Amla (R4)
2. Devon Conway (R5)
4. Jos Buttler (R1)
5. Amay Khurasiya (R7)
7. Malcolm Waller (R6)
9. Alex Wharf (R2)
10. Taskin Ahmed (R3)
In my opinion, 45 scores of over 50 with 15 centuries which is 50% conversion rate from 50s to hundreds and a List A average of 53 in a strong county set up at a time when hardly any English batsman averaged in mid-40s speaks volumes about his talent, skill and consistency. If only he didn't have the heart ailment, he would made a big name for himself.
Tector on the other hand has a good record in a small sample size but he mainly plays against associate side so Taylor gets a nod from me. At times, you have to look beyond the stats too. Just my personal opinion.

Eek! I don't say I am better at judging cricketers than Pietersen but maybe I have a bias because I liked James as a player even before he made his international debut.
Now, I'm still waiting on a pick, but I had a spare chunk of time and thus put this post together so that we can keep the momentum going. This is absolutely not intended to be a dig at that person, who still has 36 hours before his deadline - I'm just super impressed how fast everyone else got back!
Thanks to Neo picking Malcolm Waller earlier, I'm now lucky enough to be able to call on Max Walker to open the bowling.
The reality is that I just picked Kiwi all-rounder Matthew Walker to bat at 11.
1. David Boon (R2)
3. Wesley Barresi (R5)
5. Ben Stokes (R3)
6. Shakib Al Hasan (R1)
8. Johann Louw (R4)
9. Norman Vanua (R6)
10. Aaqib Javed (R7)
11. Matthew Walker (R8 - picked in error thinking he was Max Walker)
Despite his astonishing stance, Abhishek Nayar would have had a place in most ODI sides. Not India's though - he only got the briefest of attempts at it.
Pictures of Peter Fulton have to be portrait because he was too tall for anything else.
2. Phil Salt (R2)
3. Stephen Fleming (R7)
4. Jacques Kallis (R1)

8. Lonwabo Tsotsobe (R6)
9. Manjural Islam Rana (R4)
10. Ashley Mallett (R3)
It'll be Dilshan over Shehan here to keep heroin out of the dressing room. Surprised Madugalle didn't get a look-in here in a team that still needs two openers.
3. Zubayr Hamza (R2)
4. Daryll Cullinan (R5)
6. Scott Edwards (R7)
7. Courtney Browne (R6)
8. Dunith Wellalage (R1)
9. Shane Bond (R4)
10. Michael Owens (R3)
11. Dilshan Madushanka (R8)
A leg-spinner whose reputation transcended his stats,, Abdul Qadir beats out Abdul Razzaq to break into this team.
1. Graham Gooch (R7)
2. Paul Stirling (R5)
4. Steve Tikolo (R6)
5. Grant Elliott (R4)
8. Sam Curran (R1)
9. Tim Southee (R3)
10. Andre Nel (R2)
11. Abdul Qadir (R8)
There's never a bad time to pick a Northants player, especially when that person signed for Northants shortly after a career as possibly the greatest ODI all-rounder of all time.
This one shocked both Neptune and myself, because we both remembered Azhar Mahmood as being a really good player. He's still the best in this pool, but those are awful stats.
2. Ali Brown (R7)
3. Dean Jones (R6)
5. Andrew Symonds (R2)
6. Chris Cairns (R5)
7. Rohan Mustafa (R3)
8. Azhar Mahmood (R8)
9. Wahab Riaz (R1)
10. Michael Kasprowicz (R4)
From a very Zimbabwean pool emerges Tendai Chisoro, a very economical left-arm spinner who bats a bit.
1. Adam Gilchrist (R4)
3. James Taylor (R7)
4. Rameez Shahzad (R3)
7. Jan Frylinck (R6)
8. Tendai Chisoro (R8)

10. Zaheer Khan (R1)
11. Nathan Bracken (R5)

9. Norman Vanua (R6)
10. Aaqib Javed (R7)
11. Matthew Walker (R8 - picked in error thinking he was Max Walker)
Basit Ali is certainly left-field, but he averages 53 at number five so he's exactly what this team needs.
1. Matthew Hayden (R3)
2. Aamer Sohail (R1)
3. Kumar Sangakkara (R7)
4. Ian Billcliff (R8)
5. Basit Ali (R9)

This was a no-contest pick. Also my favourite current associate batter.
1. George Munsey (R9)
2. Phil Salt (R2)
3. Stephen Fleming (R7)
4. Jacques Kallis (R1)
7. Jahurul Islam (R5)
8. Lonwabo Tsotsobe (R6)
9. Manjural Islam Rana (R4)
10. Ashley Mallett (R3)
In a team that has vacancies at 1, 2 and 5, this pool wasn't quite what the doctor ordered. Alex Cusack gets the nod, and does have the best first-class record of the three.
3. Zubayr Hamza (R2)
4. Daryll Cullinan (R5)
5. Alex Cusack (R9)
6. Scott Edwards (R7)
7. Courtney Browne (R6)
8. Dunith Wellalage (R1)
9. Shane Bond (R4)
10. Michael Owens (R3)
11. Dilshan Madushanka (R8)
A few people have landed some very well-timed keepers this round, and Liton Das definitely falls into that category.
1. Graham Gooch (R7)
2. Paul Stirling (R5)
3. Liton Das (R9)
4. Steve Tikolo (R6)
5. Grant Elliott (R4)
8. Sam Curran (R1)
9. Tim Southee (R3)
10. Andre Nel (R2)
11. Abdul Qadir (R8)
I really like the fact that Stuart Law has found himself a team, and it's in the position where he scored his only ODI century.
1. Stuart Law (R9)
2. Ali Brown (R7)
3. Dean Jones (R6)
5. Andrew Symonds (R2)
6. Chris Cairns (R5)
7. Rohan Mustafa (R3)
8. Azhar Mahmood (R8)
9. Wahab Riaz (R1)
10. Michael Kasprowicz (R4)
In the time between Talha making this pick and me making this post, it has already aged like a fine wine. Welcome to the age of Shai Hope, power hitter.
1. Fakhar Zaman (R4)
2. Shai Hope (R9)
4. Saud Shakeel (R8)
5. Paul Collingwood (R7)
6. Shadab Khan (R3)
7. Luke Ronchi (R1)
8. Graeme Swann (R6)
9. Kagiso Rabada (R2)
10. Josh Hazlewood (R5)
What an incredible pool of three players this one was - 572 caps between them. Ultimately though, it was only ever going to be Shiv Chanderpaul with no keeper or spinner needed.
1. Adam Gilchrist (R4)
3. James Taylor (R7)k
4. Rameez Shahzad (R3)
5. Shiv Chanderpaul (R9)
7. Jan Frylinck (R6)
8. Tendai Chisoro (R8)
9. Paul Reiffel (R2)
10. Zaheer Khan (R1)
11. Nathan Bracken (R5)

Everyone's Round Ten pools will be coming shortly, from which you will again have 48 hours to make your picks. You will find out your Round Eleven player once you've made your Round Ten pick.

8. Lonwabo Tsotsobe (R6)
9. Manjural Islam Rana (R4)
10. Ashley Mallett (R3)
Round 10
Our first player is Josh Little; not an ideal number seven, but it's what we have to go with.
Round 11
And our number four has a high score of four. This really goes to show how quickly a team can go off the rails!
1. David Boon (R2)
2. Mark Greatbatch (R9)
3. Wesley Barresi (R5)
4. Nantie Hayward (R11)
5. Ben Stokes (R3)
6. Shakib Al Hasan (R1)

9. Norman Vanua (R6)
10. Aaqib Javed (R7)
11. Matthew Walker (R8 - picked in error thinking he was Max Walker)
Round 10 Milton Small was a feisty fast bowler who had the misfortune of sustaining a knee injury and falling out of the Barbados team at a point when it was basically a World XI. What he was not, however, is a batter. He bats at five.
Round 11
Tony Reid was a 42-year-old who opened the bowling for the USA while bowling a bit slower than Chris Harris. Could bat a bit, although he failed twice in ODIs.
1. Qasim Umar (R6)
2. Colin Munro (R7)
3. Kushal Bhurtel (R8)
4. Tony Reid (R11)
5. Milton Small (R10)
6. Safyaan Sharif (R9)
7. Dale Benkenstein (R5)
8. Ravichandran Ashwin (R1)
9. James Foster (R4)
10. Monde Zondeki (R3)
11. Courtney Walsh (R2)
