In my opinion, 45 scores of over 50 with 15 centuries which is 50% conversion rate from 50s to hundreds and a List A average of 53 in a strong county set up at a time when hardly any English batsman averaged in mid-40s speaks volumes about his talent, skill and consistency. If only he didn't have the heart ailment, he would made a big name for himself.

Tector on the other hand has a good record in a small sample size but he mainly plays against associate side so Taylor gets a nod from me. At times, you have to look beyond the stats too. Just my personal opinion.

Milton Small was a feisty fast bowler who had the misfortune of sustaining a knee injury and falling out of the Barbados team at a point when it was basically a World XI. What he was not, however, is a batter. He bats at five.
