Yes there may well be a problem with that, but surely if it his is nickname, such as Freddie, Harmy, Hoggy, etc. It should be used as it sounds better then, 'Here comes Black upto bowl' :(

Indeed mate, they may as well just say, here comes pork chop to bowl from the ............. end.

Howabout Bakewell tart for Blackwell? :)

Thats pretty good, although so is blackwell tart.

Good one stevie that is.

Exactly my point Gas.

You could also have Monty 'Bernard' Panasar, try and figure that one out. :)

Montogomery (Monty) Burns's father? :)

It's a great paradox that the rather inexperienced English spin attack dependent on debutants had a greater impact and was more impressive than the more experienced spin duo of India sharing 700 odd wickets between them.

Well that kind of implies that Blackwell wasn't just there to make up the numbers.

A hint of an extra seamer in Mohali from Fletch.

Surely Blackwell would be dropped?

Plunkett is more than just a bowler who bats imo.

Yuvraj and Munaf in, Raina and VRV out. Interesting to see if Munaf can make it to the XI. He can if:

A) India play five bowlers. With Pathan and Dhoni playing as well as they have been, India can afford five bowlers. If five batsmen can't do it, then what's the point?

B) Drop Harbhajan. Seems unlikely because he did well against England the last time at Mohali. Could happen if we get a Seaming Wicket at Mohali.

P.S. The last Test was a Draw. Nobody won. The psychological edge thing's been overhyped on and also off this forum.

I feel extremely sorry for Simon Jones, he is a brilliant bowler but he has had a constant bombardment of injuries since Trent Bridge. Even more so for Trescothick who will miss the rest of the series.

it would hav been good if there was any 20/20 match in the tour
one side good death over bowlers other side a good hitting lineup
well we saw half of it the test match

It was the extra batsman that made the difference in the previous match for India (Mohammad Kaif). If it wasn't for him, we could have very well lost the match. However, I still have confidence in using a 5-prong attack, because I think the Indian batting collapse in the first innings was a one-off thing.

England did not win the match because they did not set a competitive target. What team in their right mind would try and chase at above 4 an over, on a slowing pitch where they were struggling to get up to 3 runs an over before? The risks were too great for the benefit. The only reason England were in the match was because of two phenomenal performances: a recovery from Collingwood and a brilliant spell of bowling from Hoggard.

As I've said many times, the English fans and team should not expect to be knocking down the Indian batting line-up with such ease on a regular basis. As for Monty Panesar, India played him overcautiously in the first innings because he was an unknown quantity. As was evident in the second innings, they are probably going to be slightly more aggressive from now on. And if you end up with Sehwag vs. Panesar, that could destroy the young man's confidence.

Lets see how freddi does for the rest of the series.

Sehwag vs. Panesar if so then it will be a big test for the young cricketer
as all know sewag is devestating against spinners and always uses them as target bowlers
:cheers
