No i can't, as a ODI player maybe he shouldn't be there, still got an average better than Afridi and Boucher.
Vaughan should be no where near our ODI team, for all Hussains criticism in that department at least he got big scores. Vaughan is only useful for small totals and only then if he fires. If he has to play, he needs to open the batting, to give him time to get a hundred with everyone else playing around him. God knows who's going to open the ODI Batting in India though. Solanki I guess.

I couldn't agree more. Vaughan should indeed be nowhere near our ODI team. How many nations have specialist batsman who've never scored a century and yet keep getting picked? He's only scored 3 or something in OD cricket as well!

According to cricinfo the only indian fast bowler is M S Ansari -http://content-eap.cricinfo.com/india/content/player/237759.html

two guys Called Abid nabi and vrv singh both of them who bowls over 140 is medium fast allthough this does not matter much but a reputed website should have facts right.any knowledge who this bloke ms ansari is?

well Played India great win Congrats to all indian fans.Munaf Patel is a good found for India his line & leght is really good he's like Asif and he can swing the ball.
i hope India will win in Mumbai and wrap up the series. this English side is really weak and they are playing an inform and strong Indian team.

They are different bowlers mate asif basically is a swing bowler bowling at 135 km/hr and munaf is a seam bowler bowling at 145 km/hr and can reverse the ball

Well done India, we were outplayed other this test.

Doesn't surprise me though that we will lose this series (Mumbai will be flatter than a pancake), if you take 4 players out of a team that has stayed relatively unchanged for 18 months it will affect us.

Vaughan and Trescothick are the 2 batsman who score big runs plus with Tres at slip he adds solidarity there.

By the sounds of Fletchers interview PLunkett will be replaced by a spinner.

Sais- The Number 2 spot is a fantastic battle atm with imo both India, Pakistan and England all an even kilter.

Vaughan though has a habit of making big scores though, which is what you need in India.

When Vaughan and Tres come back who drops out?

Cook and Colly?

Surely to be able to claim No2 spot you need a decent away record?

Well after Dravid has taken over, india havent been tested abroad (i.e. outside the subcontinent). and when saurav ganguly was our captain, India's overseas record during his tenure was more than decent. In fact we learnt to win abroad only under saurav's captaincy (not trying to trigger a debate here!).

so dravid and india will need to test theirselves and the west indies will give somewhat a test with the conditions. the south african tour in the end of this year is going to be the bomber. with south africa in such superb form, i am already starting to worry a lot. hope a lot changes for the south african side on their form from now until when he reach there!

Not to start a debate, thats what you said when England lost to Pakistan. So England are only a force when playing at home? Don't get me wrong, I wanted England to win, they're one of my favorite teams, but I always see excuses from English fans and nothing more.

Feels sad, but I have to agree with this. There was no need to bring up the argument of "The real test will begin when india travels to england". come on yaar, we know that! this english team is strong and almost unbeatable on home conditions. the aussies couldnt put it past them in england during the famous ashes. every team is a major force at home. teams that look like a force abroad are the teams that deserve to be called "world champions". so far, only australia deserve to be called that! no other team is even decent outside its own den

I totally agree, and this may sound strange but I think Vaughan should be dropped from the test team :p. Flintoff seems a very good captain, and Vaughan barely makes runs apart from 1 big innings now and then, so i'd rather have Collingwood who is on good form :p.

You legendry Aussies couldn't protect 434 in a ODI. :D :D :D

:D .

Well played India. For me the turning point of the match was Pathan's knock of 50 - got them out of a difficult spot and gave their innings much needed impetus.

And whoever said Panesar isn't good enough need an eye test.

1) You normally can't judge a player after 2 tests in the hardest palce to bowl as an overseas spinner.
2) He has taken 4 wickets, could've had 10 in this series so far.
3) Has produced edges from your players which begs the question that if he isn't good enough, are the Indians that great players of spin?

btw that last question isn't my POV.

The fact of the matter is that the Indians are not as good as they used to be against spinners. During the mid- 90's with Azhar and all around i would say that they were the best against spin. But lets look how the batsmen in this test are...

1 Jaffer - seems to be ok. but yet to be tested against quality spin.
2 Sehwag- good
3 Dravid - quite good, but not great. Has struggled against the likes of shane warne in his earlier series. Seems to have improved now though
4 Tendulkar - Great. But not at his very best now.
5 Yuvraj - Average. Has stuggled against quality spinners as well as against part timers ( symonds ).
6 Dhoni - Untested. Is explosive gainst spin. Dont know how he would face the very best though.

Well they are still good against spin but not as good as they used to be....

Either that or the umpire not giving him out when he edged it on 7! :D

Yes Yes Yes Yes! That made a big difference. He was OUT when he was 7 and he was lucky to survive. Even though the umpires made some brilliant decisions, they also made some bad ones like Pietersen getting out caught off his forearm, Flintoff not given out when the ball brushed his gloves and landed into Dhoni's armpit, etc.

And i bet they wont get puinished like Pietersen has been, all he did was stand there in disbelief that he had been given out, when it is obviously out and you dont go then you should be fined.

England played poor and deserved to lose,
full credit to India they did every thing right.

All though i do agree that we played poor, remember we have been struck by injuries on this tour and in the first test the ones that came in, excluding blackwell, did play well and were maybe let down by others.

They retained the same squad, so may be they will go with the same attack, if Mumbai pitch is a dust bowl.
There is also a chance of playing 6 batsmen but it depends.

Though I agree that England too need to improve on their away form, however they do have a much better record that both India and Pakistan. Test series wins in West Indies and South Africa prior to the Ashes triumph played a big role in the revival of English cricket.

Hey, you win some you lose some and we certainly got the rub of the green (especially Pietersen) in the 1st test. It's just a shame when these things happen at crucial moments.
