Why on earth would he do that, with all the cameras around he is always going to get caught. He knew what the outcome would be if caught but yet he still did it. Stupid stuff from Afridi.

I don't think he's changed the course of the game otherwise I'd probably be more upset. Best we could hope for after day 1 was a draw such are the nature of the pitches here if you lose the toss.
I still can't believe how well we did in the first three innings in the first test but there we go... :p

It's Dil Dil Pakistan. It's actually in Urdu. But I like that song.

I just saw this on the local news channel that Shahid Afridi has been banned for 1 Test and 2 ODI's.
As a big fan of Afridi im really disappointed by his act. It was just too silly :noway . Isn?t this penalty too harsh???

That's a very hefty ban. I didn't see it but he deserved to be banned.

^ WTF are you talking about too harsh. He was scuffing the frigging wicket, it's illegal.

Claiming a catch which it wasn't is illegal too. I didn't see any f**king article about Bell getting even considered for a ban. While Latif got a five match ban for that. This is truely pathetic.

As I see it umpires are trying their best for England, but in the end Pakistan will succeed.

Claiming a catch when you KNOW it isn't genuine is against the laws of the game.

Yes, I know. But if you watched the face of Bell after he 'catched' the ball is was very suspicous. And I didn't see anything or anybody mentioning a ban against him.

Personally I think Afridi let his emotions go after such dismissals against Pakistan. But still I find it that he didn't need to do that. I hope Afridi hit England in a sportive way with the bat (just like the first innings), rather then this. At least if England can even make Pakistan bat again.

Nobody is mentioning a ban for Ian Bell, other than people who don't understand the rules, because it can not be conclusively shown that Bell definitely knew it wasn't a legit catch.

The whole point is moot anyway, as Yousuf walked, thereby indicating that he had no problem with the catch and considered it legit.

A bit too much overconfidence my friend. I am pretty sure Pakistan will bat again.

As far as the Bell incident is concerned, I am saying this again, that he might not have realised that the ball had touched the ground. He thought he had taken it clean and hence appealed. Simple as that.

Now what you think of Bell's facial expression after the catch really has no meaning. Personally I dont find anything suspicious.

And what Afridi did is simply unexplainable. Complete lack of professionalism from a talented cricketer, and that could possibly decide this match and this series. Shameful stuff!

wow what a day of drama. bad luck to inzi - surely the third umpire has a rule book on hand? and how about those catches the poms have claimed so far - bell and tres - where has the sportsmanship gone?

No, No Australians played in the test at Faislabad today. Tres catch looked fine to me, if his catch wasn't then Akmals wasn't a catch to take Tres' wicket.

Match fixing for England in pakistan? Yeh right  ;)

Pieterson should also be banned. Pieterson was being pretty obnoxious and making stupid gestures to Afridi on the way off the pitch.

I wonder what Kp and Afridi was saying to eachother. Afridi was just smiling at it.

Entirely fairly imo.
Afridi deserves all the contempt and abuse he will recieve in this match and the ODI series.
