Comparing Welbeck to the likes of Schurrle, Ozil is in no way good.

I'm not comparing them - I merely listed all those names to show that the next generation of England players is looking good - which it is.

Great Britain Olympic Squad

Usually we never care about this tournament, but this is sort of the first step for Hodgson to have a look at good young players.

Hope to see Cleverley, Walker, Rodwell, Barkely in the squad as the young English players mainly. Maybe even Phil Jones and Kelly also given they didn't actually play in the EURO's.

For the three potential over 30's, it seems by all reports that Giggs and Bellamy and Beckham are always mentioned as the likely candidates that will be picked.

Personally Someone like Joe Cole who is the almost the forgotten man of English football, should be in, since he has a far better chance of being in 2014 WC squad, if he impresses on his return to Liverpool.

Having played under some very good coaches and coming close to getting paid to play footy I believe I can tell a good player when I see one, I'm not saying that means I know more than everyone, but playing with players who have made it pro or semi pro gives me enough experience to enable me to judge ability.

Unlike most over weight middle aged men who sit in the pub shouting at the screen that everyone is and they can do better who have never played anything more than Sunday pub football, they know nothing about the game,
